And since when has he ever been taken off for that?

I'd have thought with Liverpool coming up we'd be looking to take off Mkhi, Mata, Pogba or Herrera earlier. Rooney is surely unlikely to start against Liverpool so I thought he'd play the full 90 tonight.

Lately Rooney has been getting the treatment his performances deserve which has been refreshing and I would suggest that its no coincidence that we are on a good run of from since he has been dropped.

I assume Mourinho thinks that tuesday - sunday is a long enough rest regardless.

How bizarre. We have Blind and Fosuh Mensah who could have come on.

Has there ever been a more consistently bad crosser of the ball than valencia.
