Eight months later - R8 Delivery day!

Just to answer a few questions.

I wanted a red car after I had the blue one as that was two in a row and I refuse to buy white black or grey, orange is a bit much and green didn't look right.

Seats are the sport ones, RS ones didn't feel as good to me and the sport ones hold me just fine.

No engine run in at all, already had it to the redline and word on the R8 forum is the harder you drive it from day one the less oil it will consume so I am going that route!

The build list has everything I specced, I didn't list the standard V10 bits though and no fancy tech on these, just old nav system and bluetooth is as much as you get.

And no it isn't a Veyron :p

Lovely car, mate of mine just got a V10 R8 as he found the GTR to harsh for daily use and said his RS5 was dog poo.

He loves it, says the only car he has owned which has better handling than his GTR and is a much nicer drive. He says it's quicker too or feels it and lives the way it revs, but in fairness his GTR was pretty much standard.

Lovely car JP and look forward to seeing it. :)

Wow, lucky git:D
Maybe one day...

I see one most days on the way to work and it always sound soon good!

Bye the way, is that like special handover room the dealer has just for R8s?!

No, with any new audi you get to pick it up in the handover room.

Typical rainy, windy morning! Will get a few more pictures in a bit but no real good dslr ones today I don't think.

Rob, if you see me in the city come say hello

Gibbo, thank you, I also agree with your mate, I won't bash the GTR as I love them, it really has the power and performance part down but does lack the finish and refinement but that costs, just look at the LFA or CGT. Both 2 seat V10 cars that I would like but 4x the price and if I had that money it would be an Aventador!
I still think the R8 is a better every day performance car though.

The handover room thing is for everyone, that is why I had to wait all day as they wanted me to "experience" it and as it was the 1st of the month they had lots of people picking up new cars.

Audi also invited me to an RS Day, Silverstone Track Experience, Audi at Goodwood and their Golf tournament so going to get my moneys worth on all those :D Just need Audi in F1 and an invite to that also :p

Awesome mate, more pics and details though please.

Hope you enjoy it, passenger ride at next meet please :)
