Had a gaming day myself, apart from a couple of hours at the gym; so a lot of my production been paused today.

I have snagged four spicey E7-4890 V2's for a very good price

That's 120 threads in one rig running at probably 3Ghz with almost the same power envelope as the 64 thread rig

Downside is the price of the motherboard

Is ocuk making good process with this project still, I need to see how the Gtx680 fairs up but am looking at getting a new gpu so may try an amd card like a 380 or even an older 290x,

What are you going to use it for? It might be worth considering getting something like 2 of these.
