** EKWB-PREDATOR - AVAILABLE NOW **

hi guys
I was just about to sell my unused ek 360mm and have just noticed some liquid droplets in the clear bag around the cpu block, this is the new rev 1.1 Is this an automatic RMA with EK or should it be with the people I bought it from In Jan

within the first 12 months i would think it go's to the retailer?

Anyone else fitted their cooler and wondered why the temps are high?

Then realised you haven't removed the sticker from the block! :o

Seen a few pictures with the 240/360 just cooling with CPU and it looking quite tidy. If you add a GPU to the loop - does it not get a bit messy?

FYI since I have mine for almost 6 months, the system is superb running at 70% fan speed even the hot days of the summer, cooling the 4820K @ 4800 and the R9 Nano at 1120/1100.

Great purchase and I advice anyone considering to watercool their systems but afraid on leaks etc, to go down the Predator + pre-filled blocks route.

Considering purchasing a Predator 360. Should just about fit in a Phanteks Evolv ATX. Would it be as quiet as a Noctua D15S that I'm currently using? I'm guessing if the pump doesn't produce any vibrations or whirring noises, it should be?

I use the 360 in the glass version of the same case. It's not excessively loud, but I will get some additional db's from the glass sided case.

You will need to fix it in the front though in my opinion and have it pulling air in from the front.

Thanks Pete. Just had a look at your project log. Are you using the included Vardars on the rad? I was thinking of using some Noctua NF-F12 fans. I know they won't be as good as the Vardars. It's only cause I know how quiet Noctua fans are. Can anyone tell I'm a bit of a Noctua fanboy? :D

I am using noctua fans too, but also thinking switching to water cooling. The only problem I see, is the noise.
Currently using nfd14 on my cpu, and its whisper quiet. I tried to use corsair h100, but the pump noise was rather annoying. I have a pc right next to monitor and it was all I could hear.

Would EKWB predator be quieter?

This is what I'm hoping for, well at least as quiet as a d15s. Last time I tried an all in one was when the Corsair H50 came out. Have placed an order for the 360.

I'm using 6 Vardar F4's in total (including the three that come with the predator).

Another alternative is to replace the standard F4's with F4 ER's which have the ability to run at a wider rpm range (particularly when the system is in idle mode).

I've had a number of Noctua NF-F12's in my old luxe case before I used the Vardars on rad's and case duty and didn't really notice any difference by the switch.

End of the day, if you buy the pred you'll have the 3 F4's that come with it so can always try them first and change if you feel it's worthwhile down the line.

i think i may have posted this in a more restricted thread before i found this one. (i apologize i am new to this forum). my question is easy though and you sound like experts. i just bought an ekwb predator 240 for a new build. everything is perfect but the pump gives off a loud high-pitched whine that is pretty near unbearable or long. i don't have a db meter but i can hear it and dread it three rooms away with doors shut. is this an automatic rma matter or is there anything i can do about it (or anything I've already done wrong)? temperatures on asus rampage v edition 10 with intel 6850 run around 43 even when idle. could it be low on coolant? does it normally run this hot and noisy? thank you in advance or any feedback. tom bestor

My new 360 build from overclockers has an annoying whine, its not particularly loud but it is incredibly annoying because of the frequency its at and the constant change in tone sounds like its singing.

I think the predator is a truly outstanding product and performs really well. However I RMAéd mine back to OCUK and they were fantastic about it. THe reason the whine. A subtle whine which was not excessively loud but the high ptich of it and continous sound starts to get under your skin.

There seems to be a few of us that have had this issue. I wonmder if EK are aware of it becuase if they isolated that issue I would not hesitate to get one again but until then no.
