** EKWB-PREDATOR - AVAILABLE NOW **

pvc tubing is porous which is why we cant use it...

and also explains why ek chose their tubing for the predator

if you have air in the loop then you can easily bleed it using either of the fill ports on the system

So if we wanted to expand the loop with, say, a GPU block, where might we get a compatible QDC to join in with this?

It isnt on the spare parts list for me to buy yet from what i can see.

assuming all their stock is going into the production of predator units and pre filled blocks currently.

I t was shown at Computex with 240/360/420.

They said 280 was also possible.

computex was a long time ago.

from what I understand they are focusing entirely on the products out at the moment. The market for 420 radiators is absolutely tiny. so I can see the market for an AIO encompassing one would be even smaller.

I am getting a little concerned at this lack of info about the connect parts thou, I thought we were meant to know all this beginning of this month

the connect parts are coming with the pre filled blocks. that is all the info that we have and in fairness, all the info that is really needed.

as soon as EK are ready to sell them then they will be live on EKWB and with resellers.

Hi Guys,

Any ideas when OC will be getting the rev1.1 in stock, I have not bought mine yet but did buy the 2011 screw set from OC a few weeks back but now with the new revision they are included :)

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/ek-releases-ek-xlc-predator-240-with-quick-disconnect.html

Pred 240 with QDC looks nice!! I could see myself getting one of these along with a QDC block for gfx! Lovely silent system

two additions today

the new revision is on the website for pre order. i am hesitant to order a lot because the price is quite high.

we will have a few bits coming though if you want one.

the 2011 kit is now included on the rev 1 240mm cooler and the 360mm cooler as a special offer, free of charge.

the price of the original 240 has been reduced too :)

**** IMPORTANT RECALL INFORMATION - PLEASE READ ****

Hi Guys

Got an email last night with instructions on how EK are going about this.

They identified a potential issue with a batch initially but have turned it into a full product recall as of last night. Due to the nature of the product, this is the only sensible thing to do.

Affected products with EAN codes:
3831109863343: EK-XLC Predator 240 R1.0
3831109863350: EK-XLC Predator 360 (incl. QDC) R1.0

To reduce downtime, you have a few options. EKWB have revised the design (Revision 1.1) and all customers from OcUK have two options:

You can return your unit directly to EKWB who will replace the unit for you.
You can return your unit directly to OcUK who will refund or replace the unit for you.

(I personally suggest contacting OcUK directly so that we are able to resolve the matter for you quickly)

EKWB is promising a full refund for any units so if your preference is to take a refund then this will be honoured regardless of if your unit is faulty or not. For clarification, ALL units are being recalled and replaced due to the potential for this fault to develop over the product lifetime.

We are placing an order for 1.1 revisions for our inventory today so hopefully people looking to swap for the new ones will be able to do a straight swap if that is your preference.

Please be mindful that EKWB take their reputation very seriously and although a product recall is inconvenient, it is really the right thing to do to instil confidence in their customer base. The issue they identified is only a precautionary measure but it is necessary to act on it.

So far they have found only a small percentage of units to be impacted but I must stress that this is all precautionary and needs to happen to protect their brand reputation.

Rather than seeing pictures of leaking predator systems popping up all over the internet, this is absolutely the right thing for them to do and I hope all OcUK customers can see the merit in how they are handling this problem.

If you have any questions then please post on here and I will do what I can to help out too.

Rich

hi Stanners

yeah just post in the CS section so that Bailey can log it for you.

if you want a replacement then we can try to arrange that too.

as mentioned, I am placing an order today for the new revisions so that we have serviceable stock to replace units for users impacted by this. Unfortunately I dont have an eta right now on how long that will take to get to us as EKWB are understandably very busy right now and haven't replied to me.

As soon as I have a proper update, I will post here.

Hi Guys

so. our current stock is quarantined and being sent back. in the mean time i have ordered replacement 'Revision 1.1' units to cover our RMA requirements as well as restocking the lines.

The product is off the website right now so that i can alter the descriptions and update the info.

We expect the replacement units to be with us within 7 business days.

Any EKWB Predator you buy from OCUK after today will be a Revision 1.1 unit that is not impacted by the recall.

Hi rjk,

I contacted EK and the response I got from them is that they are not doing anything and we have to go through whoever we purchased it from. I have posted the response I got in the CS section. The news has maybe not filtered through yet to there own guys.

we are dealing with their returns right now as it is the most efficient for the logistics of the recall to take place.

Downtime is a bummer, but I must stress, if you have a predator then remove it from your system immediately and use an alternative cooling solution if available. I know its a pain bu tEK have advised me to make sure this is clear to my customers.

Whilst the likelihood of a problem is very small, it is still there and something I think users should be mindful of.

It has not been made clear to me which part is causing the problem so I could not advise if it is an oring or whatever else. All I know is that the units are being recalled and reworked units are on their way. A revision 1.1 unit will be free of fault.

the replacement units are on order. I ordered them wednesday last week. had some days off this weekend for my birthday so am just catching up on email now.

My Account Manager at EKWB has said they are shipping our units today so all being well we should have replacement stock here by the end of this week.

I will update if there are any delays to this of course

because the units use the same MPN and EAN codes they are technically the same product.

in order for me to ensure that all of the old stock that is waiting to go back cannot ship or break the quarantine we have on it, I have removed the products from sale until the old stock is off our stock figure and has been shipped back to EKWB for reworking.

this should happen in the next day or so but it has been done to ensure we dont inconvenience anybody by accidentally sending out a recalled unit. I dont want to take any chances

its looking like early next week guys

i have put the skus live on the site again for pre order

if you buy a predator unit from us now it will be a new revision unit.
