*** Elden Ring ***

Think I played DS3 on a 2080ti? Ran fine for me but hope to god this runs well on my 3090. From what I can see its under 60fps on the regular on PS5 so my 3090 will hopefully keep me at 60.

I don't think the previous from games had DRM so we should be fine. I too have been disappointed by my 3090 and resent triple A games, they are so badly optimised.

Cools, midnight my time then (Amsterdam). I've pre ordered the steelbox edition for PS5 but my wife surprised bought me a Steam key, so at least I can play 2 builds in different locations lol.

I just really hope someone releases a UW fix otherwise it's gonna look a bit odd.

I'm a little concerned about pc performance, with the lack of uw ready. But if its bad, I'll just stick to the ps5 version until a community patch comes out for uw and the performance issues are solved.

With that said, I'm beyond excited for this! I can't wait.

Just downed Godrick with a npc quest summon. Took many attempts but my god did it feel good when that final blow landed!

Certainly an odd feeling when you get to the open world given how these games have always been, almost feels a little daunting in a way. I'm excited to get stuck in tomorrow, atmosphere feels like it's there already.

Stutter is there too though, seems to kick me down to around 45-48 fps briefly, a minor annoyance so far, but one I hope they can quickly fix.

As for the open world, I was a little concerned. But having just finished clearing out Godricks Castle (which is HUGE btw), I'm excited for the slower less tense pace of the outside world again.

Absolute masterpiece this game.

Welp, I ended up spending a couple of hours farming godrick to help people progress and get a bunch of arch runes.

Found a bunch of grace sights in the next area but won't go into detail for spoilers. The game just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Love it!

As for technical issues, I noticed a very small frame drop here and there. But it's buttery smooth at 4k on the oled TV at 60fps.

Installed on a nvme

The above cpu and gpu are under water so temps are low and the clocks don't fluctuate at all. My wife's pc on the other hand. 2070 super and its basically unplayable..... Hopefully they patch it soon.

Which is weird, I'm only on a 1080 and I'm getting a pretty solidly consistent 60fps, I'd have thought a 2070 super would do better than mine. Though its not the first time that my 1080 seems to have performed above and beyond

She's running at 3440x1440, no matter what settings, the stutters and pausing is making it unplayable for her. Mind you, her drivers are older than some of the items in the British museum and she NEVER turns her machine off and has a bajillion things open. So take the performance remarks with that in mind. And yes, I've asked, no, she won't let me sort her pc out lol

So far, loving it, trying to explore every nook and crannie, on a certain questline for Radahn and without trying to spoil anything, that fight is a PAIN even with the summons...

One thing is becoming remarkably clear, even for a souls game, this sorely needed at least a journal. No waypoints or 'speak to X' as such, just a journal saying 'I've spoken with X who suggested Y'. I keep forgetting who I've interacted with and what my next steps are for some NPC's.

Other than that, I can't let go of my Bloodhounds fang weapon, it's +5 now and it just stomps everything and I love it's move set! Will tackle Radahn tonight until he falls as I want to progress further now. Oh, I'm 45 hours in by the way, double what some main streamers are in for being at the same location, but I'd rather take my time and explore as much as possible.

Just farmed 2 great scythes and 2 executioner great axes... That was not fun, soooooo many runs to get them. But it's worth it :D

I can't put down the bloodhound fang, searching for a somber stone 5 now

I am kind of the same, hence I'm forcing my self to try out a strength collosal weapons build for a while to mix it up as I figure I'm about 1/3 through the game now (on the door step of Radahn). I'm Lv66 though so it's getting costly leveling up and I still have a tonne more exploration to do.

I may have made the game a little too easy lol

I have a +9 Bloodhound fang, +10 Mimic spirit summon, lv85 with 54 dex. I'm face rolling through everything right now. Beat Radahn earlier, took a break away from him, came back. Died first try because I was being stupid, second attempt I downed him before he could even get to his second phase!

Still loving the game though.

Another main story boss down today, and not too tricky a one despite having to switch back to my claymore for my second attempt.

I think we are all in the same place. That NPC was a cinch with the weapon art of Moonveil. He could dodge everything else, parry melee attacks, but he couldn't dodge the magic arc of death!

The most difficult spots for me are the gank ones. Like being shot at by three sorcerors or greatbow users whilst a "whirling arms of death" enemy or a headbutting spirit lock me down in melee.

I agree these legacy dungeons are great, and feel like some of the classic Souls levels. Such great integration with the open world whilst also giving a different experience to the open spaces and mounted combat.

How did you get the materials? Are you quite far in? I can't find any mats to upgrade my claymore past +12, my special weapons past +4 or my spirits past +3. Just finished the academy and starting to lose hope of finding any materials in Liurnia.

It happens naturally through progression, for example, today I got 6 respec larvae or what ever they are called just going through basic mobs. Push forward and you'll get what you need.

I've been exploring every nook and crannie before bosses. So today after Radahn, I just went to all areas and checked out what to do. Maybe that also helps?

I've also given up on caring about runes at this lvl, so I'm certainly more adventurous and taking much riskier options as if I lose them, oh well, I'm purely focused on getting all the loot I can :D

Took a break from gaming for a while, explored as much as I could stand on this character since release (110 hours) and now facing the final boss. I've got all achievements bar the alternative endings.

So I'm going to do Ranni's ending first as I've already done the full quest. On NG+ I'm gonna just sprint through to get the normal ending and then on NG++ I'll kill all merchants to get the madness ending. Once I've done that, time to start making PVP toons for some fun :D

Trying to run through the game on NG+ real quick to get achievements, what is the fastest way to the end boss without having to do any glitches?
