I think from what it sounds you want the swirley thing in the south east mountaintops of the giants, beat him and its farm azula straight away. There’s some good bosses there, placidusax (optional and easily missed) and maliketh. Godskin duo was a borefest. After that you’re home straight to the final run of bosses. Even when you beat the final boss you don’t automatically go to ng+, you still have the world to sweep and clear until the expansion.

Ahh I see. Admittedly I did use my mimic summon for the draconic tree sentinel as a bit of a distraction.. but that’s what the summons are for I guess.

I put this game off for so long because of souls difficulty, but being so open world, it’s as hard or as easy as you want to make it. The start of the game however can be a bit of a slog. I know a lot of people used the bloodhound fang sword, but I hate that thing so didn’t bother with it.

Yeah that’s what I meant ! I’m headed there next then, and finishing up all optional bosses before finishing the rest of the mains. Good to hear I don’t need to go straight to an NG+. I want to do the expansion before rolling over to a new game !

I fired up ER a week or so ago after not playing for quite some time. Completely forgotten how my character build works effectively and I’m harbouring 2 million runes so terrified to move anywhere!

Parked it again until the DLC.
 
Sorry to dp, but I’ve pre ordered SoTET in advance because I’ve enjoyed this game so much. It’s not often I pre order. My only gripe, I just wish there was a quest npc notebook or jotter to which the tarnished toook down some notes with a pencil.

Edit. Placidusax and Maliketh defeated this afty. :)

Edit. And the last trio done. Ready for the dlc. The Elden beast was some bs though :P

If they could be reset that would be great but I think you cannot reset trophies and they are permanently unlocked. Would just be nice to unlock them all again and start a new play through.

I remember Witcher 3 GOTY edition had a fresh set of trophies as that was classed as a different install (from memory) - Wondered if the ER DLC bundle might be something similar

Can't say for sure, but I'd highly doubt it as that never happened with other FromSoft titles.
 
Apparently 8 new weapon types / categories in the dlc. Wonder how many new weapons we’ll see in total.. 25 ? 50 ? 100? Got my character waiting at the round table grace ready to go.
 
I'm hyped for the dlc drop at the end of the month. I need to decide which of my 2 main builds to go with Arcane / Faith with the option of Mohgs Spear or Blasphemous Blade or my Magic Int Clayman Spear build with the ice Spear ash of war.

Hopefully there will be some cool new spells and weapons & ashes to try out.
 
Bit late to the party but can you access the DLC with just one play through as I did read somewhere you need to do two ‍♂️
 
My grandad started Elden ring a few months ago, he's 82 years old and I was thinking who told him to buy that it's going to be too hard.

Just left his house while he went to face the final boss.
I'm level 30 and struggling lol.
 
Fired this up today in prep for the DLC, character on 197 on NG but I have no idea wtf I'm doing it's been that long. Compounded with the fact I keep bloody ducking by mistake ( Stella Blade to thank for that ).

I think I'll have to start again but that's daunting as I know how big this game is....
