Elder Scrolls VI Announced!

So this was really just a sneaky advertisement for Skyrim under the guise of a 'new elder scrolls' game.

Glad I never bought it. I'll definitely be 'downloading' the anniversary edition though since Bethesda find this all so comical.

Had to read my initial post from 2018!!!!! you just quoted just to get the context :D

As someone who has played ESO since Jan 2014 beta, the bar is set very high for any future Elder Scrolls game. VERY HIGH.

Cannot play any single player ES game today and tried believe me. Not because they are single player, but because ESO has set the bar last 7 years.
Is my personal opinion some might say, but as wrote in 2018, Skyrim if you do not play a Norse fighting the Imperials you are out of place. It doesn't seem right.

Oblivion was superior game.

Oblivions levelling was problematic.

The next destination for the Elder Scrolls looks like it’s been uncovered, and a Bethesda employee’s concept board on Pinterest seems to be the source. Those familiar with Tamriel will recognise the setting as Hammerfell, but those interested instead by spice and desert power will see Arrakis.

The account seemingly belonged to a Bethesda employee, possibly working on The Elder Scrolls 6. However, after the account was found by users on the r/TESVI subreddit, it was locked and taken offline. Luckily, screenshots exist showcasing what we could be seeing for Skyrim’s sequel – however many years away from release it really is.

only the best part of 10 years since the first teaser now

Don't worry, it'll have 16 times the depth and resoltion of Starfield.
but will we be able to enter and exit buildings without loading screens.

I don't want another fast travel simulator, add more random encounters and stuff to make the world feel like you miss out by not travelling..

RDR2 managed to do it fine many years ago

Unlikely.
It's nuts. A mod I used for oblivion had at least towns not requiring to load and it worked and ran fine. I sure hope they can at least manage that.

The silly thing is they could easily have hidden loading screens, e.g to enter a tavern, you see your user push open the door, this takes a second but in that time, it's doing the loading.

Star craft could have done it even easier with lifts/trains being ridden is the loading event, but instead they skipped this and just had it you click on the lift and you exit some random spot the other side.

Terrible engine now and the next elder scrolls game I fear is going to feel extremely dared due to this alone.

Won't be buying another Bethesda product that uses this ancient, outdated engine.

Starfield was the last straw for me.
I guess the "baby with the bath water" question is, would a new engine remove the Creation Kit?

Or might Microsoft in their greed want to merchandise the Creation Kit anyhow?

With the modding community, Bethesda game would be buggy, incomplete, and dull. Maybe good for one play through but no more.

I don't want to can this game before i've even seen it, but I don't trust bethesda. They have not produced any great game since skyrim and it's just sad at this point.

I enjoyed Fallout 4, not without its flaws, but that was the last good Bethesda game tbh that I enjoyed. I somewhat enjoyed Starfield, but it was as frustrating as it was fun.
