Dude I was one of the worlds leading experts on Cookers for the Merloni group - seriously.
All my test results, including other makes & models used to go to WHICH Magazine.

So yes I was special, it was the only expertise I have ever had in anything but I was there for 27 years.

Bit of an update.
All three bulbs I bought from Ebay all failed within a few hours of fitting them - I then bought two more bulbs from Ebay but advertise as Phillips -The one I put in is still working so either I was unlucky with the other bulbs and had three dud ones or Chinese QC was rubbish.
Will now contact sell for money back.

What I can verify is that when the Italians took over Creda/Hotpoint they sourced cheaper parts from all over (Eastern) Europe but the one thing that didn't work was cheap bulbs.
We also had gas pipes under the hob that were so thin you could crush them with your fingers.
About 50% of the Stat controls (switches) were bonded but they were so cheap it still worked out cheaper and the Company had to fetch the Stats and replace them anyway.
It still gets to me after 14 years :)
 
Did that include Zanuusi - My oven is now 11 yrs old and other than a few replacement bulbs it's been fine - At least we can see the food burning again
Did have the problem with fan vent blocking -Manged to push a straightend up wire coat hanger through gap between ovens and must have dislodged a chunk of burnt on crud and it's been fine.

No, I have tested Zanussi for WHICH magazine though.

any cheap oven elements etc I used from ebay and such lasted 1-2 years where as the originals last like 4-6.

been a long time since I replaced one though maybe the quality is worse now days.

I have a panasonic combi microwave from like 2015/16 that was used almost daily to cook at 200c in oven mode.
suprised it's still going strong.

I guess panasonic do or used to use really good quality components.

The light bulb for inside stopped working just a few months back, never bothered to replace it. meh do I really need to see the food as it cooks, just shine a torch in there... :D

Surprisingly it is packaged like the ones we used to send out of the Hotpoint Spares & Repair Department but that means nothing.
If it fails I'll ring my mate up who has a garage full of spare parts when the company closed down.

My Rangemaster is full of eBay elements, all are fine despite heavy use, some have been in there for years. Wouldn't worry :) Bulbs are not worth buying mail order, screwfix have branded ones for about a pound each so why bother.

About as pointless as the light in the microwave.

You would have thought as light tech has moved on that they'd be able to put a heat resistant LED white lighting inside ovens/microwaves to make it much clearer to see.

Tech has moved on but the physics is still the same. Electronics don’t like extreme heat or extreme cold and likely never will.

LED can only handle upto 80c according to google.
you'd have to have some kind of insulated air cooed cavity for it to be in with a tiny glass window.

then how are you going to change a dead led in your oven ? surely a bulbs way better and probably cheaper
I guess the LED could always be hidden on the other side of the door handle pointing inwards from outside though. (patent it quick if no one else already has lol)

no part of the outside of the oven door will hit 80c? you'd burn your hand touching it
 
I'd expect ovens (Miele?) to start using ceramic light tubes, with a led bulb elsewhere -

How recently did ovens have glass doors ? - light was a bit pointless w/o that,
they are useful though - but typically 2700K so you cannot see clearly what colour/browning oven contents have.

I can't open XLS on this pc but even with the glass window the only thing between the bulb cavity and the oven is a thin piece of metal? the glass won't stop all the heat from being absorbed even if it reflects a large chunk
I'd bet it still gets pretty toasty.

wonder how hot it gets on a cleaning cycle

Definitely had them in the 80s and when they exploded they made a right mess.

It's a shame you can't access that XLS file.
We had to do Fidatezza testing which was basically leaving the cooker on non stop for 8 hours over 5 days which would equate to a long test.
During this time you would have pans full of water and ovens & grills with pans containing water and you had to keep an eye on them so nothing boiled over.
Every now and then you would take the temperature on different parts of the cooker.

You'd probably need a solid glass tube with highly polished ends, and then set it so that it's long enough to put the LED away from the heat/so the LED could use the external casing of the cooker as a heatsink (it's got to cope with both the ambiant heat and it's own).
I'd imagine it's doable, but you're probably looking at something that is far more prone to breakage and general damage whilst costing more and being harder to repair than the current heat resistant bulb behind a glass panel, especially as most cookers don't really have that much cool dead space.
