Elite Dangerous Crossfire

Should have told people that at CES 2014 lol :D

Joking aside, the trailing support is pretty glaring, I don't think it needs to be explained nor do people look to you for excuses. The only saving grace is that SLI scaling is currently awful (albeit not always)

It's been requested Si. As soon as it's ready, you'll hear about it from me i can promise you that. :)

If you're referring to FreeSync being delayed for Multi GPU then yes, we delayed it to get it perfect. We'd rather take this approach than rush stuff out the door only to have to release a new driver next week to correct other issues that arise from a rushed driver.

This I fully agree with.. Nothing worse than having something rushed out only to after wait even longer for it to be fixed.. Cough driver stopped responding cough

That's the approach we take. We're not perfect and we still have room for improvement, but our bug reports have dropped dramatically since 14.12 Omega. Our drivers are reaching a higher level of consistency, performance and most of all stability. Still work to do of course, but we're on the right track.

Well we all know what happens when something is rushed *cough* Rocksteady *cough*

Yess.. Everyone should follow rockstar with gta5.. Although there recent patches recently has been a mixed bag.

But the main point is have something delayed to be working better come release is something I agree with 100%

No excuse for elite dangerous crossfire though :p game has been around for while now. I can only think they is much more going on behind the scenes tbh.

Yeah because not having support for 6 months is so much better. Back on topic, which is strangely also negative.

Again I have heard great things from crossfire Freesync, even in my own testing it's bloody superb.. I would rather be saying this now, than couple months back reporting bugs only to after wait even more for it to be fixed.

Least now it's fully working and we can move on.. New technology bugs sorted out.

I think it is safe to say that Matt has been making this CF profile a priority since around 19th March time. For 4K, CF/SLI is needed and it does get ready of the jaggies that are quite prevalent, even at 1440P with everything maxed.

You have to chuckle. The thing is, nobody is out to point fingers but people don't want excuses. Delays are still delays and issues are still issues. I can tell you at least in part it has to do with general man power and cutbacks. Driver and kernel programming is some of the hardest types of software development in the industry that has to go through fairly serious scrutiny before it's considered to go public. Not to mention whilst on schedules, finding time for issues is limited and has to be devided carefully, and become enough of a priority to be considered.

The problem therefore stems from being understaffed, it's pretty obvious. Driver releases seemingly came to a hault for several months whilst problems laid open to saturate. It's well and good taking disgruntled punts at the opposition (Matt) for a timing issue that was extremely difficult to replicate, but it did get sorted. And none of the interim drivers before that were fixes for this, but drivers for other application that required attention. There is nothing wrong with doing this, especially when it addresses the issues that are listed within the release notes.

Saying good things take time so don't rush us, doesn't pay the bills and customers are still waiting, and have been for months for something that NVIDIA have offered for well over a year now. So forgive me Matt, but if we go back to that comment you made about SLIs continual use of bridging (although not directly related but welcome to have that discussion) - seems to be working out better for them in tandem with the use of G-Sync technology which apparently according to some misinformed is simply a scaler chip and VB stuck on an ASIC.

In short, most people can appreciate the reasoning but they don't want to keep hearing it, they want to use their FreeSync supported panels with the use of all the cards in their system and they would like to know when. Same applies to this Crossfire profile, if I were to go to NVIDIA now I could get an ETA on outstanding problems. Giving people a timeframe does help.

So the FuryX was delayed so that you could get the pump whine just right before releasing it? :D

Better to take your time and get it right than have to released a revised version (say with a new pump) shortly after the initial release! :p

I would say it is delayed due to the manufacturing process and them simply not having the parts ready. They said June, every one then expected June, you get a rushed release like this.

I do have faith though. I think Fury X will be something very special once it beds in and settles..
