Hopefully all relevant videogame retailers will have warned there staff about banned consoles after the Halo 3 bannings. Banned consoles may well slip through if people use false details when trading in/staff fail to check if the console is banned.

In many cases those who have modified there 360's DVD drive to allow copied games to be played have been banned from Live!. The 360 still works but Micrsoft no longer allow any gamertag to connect to Xbox Live! from the banned 360.
 
well only a couple of days to go and can't wait for this. I have managed to trade my premium with a couple of games and an extra wireless controller for £200 to the gf's sister which I though was a fairly decent price.


Plus with the collection of games that I have she has a free rental service.

Went to my local "the one thats selling Elite + Blue Dragon for £299.99 online" and asked if the same deal would be available in the store and they didn't seem to know and said as far as they know it's just the elite for £299 :(

I wanted to buy the elite and sell Blue Dragon for £30 making the elite £270. I can also get 10% off at ASDA but they don't know about the elite and seem to be pushing the PS3.
 
Knowing my luck I will trade my release month core for an elite and have no end of hardware problems - but Im thinking about it to have a decent size hdd
 
I've just called my other local console shop, and they are offering £160 trade in for a Premium against an elite as opposed to £140 from the other store.

The girl didn't seem to know anything about how you might get you data across but I'm sure if you asked nicely the would do it in store/loan you a memory card or something.

I've decided I'm definitely upgrading, if its gonna break out of warranty its going to be a 3rod error which is now covered for 3 years anyway.

Maybe its worth engineering an error when the new chips come out....

Nosing about on xbox.com, MS gave away free data transfer cables for the US market when they launched the Elite across the pond.
Hopefully they will do the same for us Brits.
However, I can see MS being inundated with requests for the cable so I wouldn't be surprised if there are delays in some people recieving them.

I am asuming that the end of trade in date set (30th Sept) via one particular retailer, doesn't mean we have to take our old consoles back for the £140 by this date?
Otherwise it'll be right pain in MS don't send the cables out in time.

AceyBongos made a post on his blog saying you will be able to get a transfer cable, details when he gets them.

I have 5 Live accounts on my 20gb hard drive, does anyone know if these and all related content will transfer accross ok with the transfer lead?

Also is it possible to backup the 20GB hard drive to a PC then copy the contents to the 120GB elite hard drive using something like the Executer HD Adaptor connectivity kit?

Just picked up my Elite from town, no pre-order and the had loads of them. I also traded one of my Premiums in. Just a note they checked to see if the void seal underneath the faceplate was broken.

They also had the Bioshock Collectors editions behind the desk and all the Big Daddies statues were broken, oops! :o
