Sorry for the bump on this thread but just adding some notes for prosperity...

Despite moving to sandybridge I've kept this board as it has been a faithful overclocker albeit seriously crippled by Asus removing AHCI support and the PCI-e bus is only v1.1

I've never liked the idea of crossflashing to p5kr so here's the alternative....

Whilst looking around at notes on how to hackintosh this board I came across a Jerry who has hacked AHCI support back into the 1201 BIOS

BIOS location : http://www.root86.org/showthread.ph...-for-root-device?p=49496&viewfull=1#post49496

It comes with an apple BIOS logo *sigh* but I can confirm the AHCI works as I've just tried it.

Finally switch your Windows 7 IDE installation to AHCI using these steps

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

Bob's your uncle... Done

EDIT: AHCI Disks disappearing after resume from sleep ?

Solution : Apply the latest and great Intel Chipset drivers http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/ and the Microsoft hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977178/#top
