End of the world as we know it.

Who actually buys the 99p stuff anyway?
I have to say I was surprised how cheap it was.

When it comes to burgers I prefer places like honest burgers, or haché burgers etc... Granted they're not cheap - but I guess for a quick fix a mcdonald's burger will do for most people. How good quality are mcdonald's these days?

Not good. But fairly priced vs competition.
It's a snack on the way home on a late journey.

[GD] DOESN'T MATTER I'D NEVER EAT THAT DISGUSTING CRAP ANYWAY PLEASE READ THIS POST AND ACKNOWLEDGE MY CULINARY SUPERIORITY PLS KTNX[/GD]

They do double and triple ones here... My nearest Mc DS IS 40km away tho lol

The flavour hasnt changed in 25+ years. Its actually impressive, Reminds me of being young when i scoff one....

Tend to eat McDs everytime i fly from Stockholm too. You can actually sit somewhere for 99p (10Kr, though i think they might be 15Kr now, guess ill find out next trip.)

I’m surprised. Every vegan thread is detailed by people saying how awful the diet is and everyone on this forum eats organic, home made food made with ingredients foraged six feet from their doorstep or purchased from their local artisanal butcher and greengrocer which specifically targets their macros, micros and m&ms.

Apparently not!

Do you still get apple pies? Have we thought about harnessing their heat to solve the energy crisis?

when i was a kid i didn't like cheese, i was in a mcdonalds that only had cheeseburgers at the time. I asked if they could remove the slice of cheese, but they said they couldn't do it.

All these years later and i still wonder why they couldn't do it? Lazyness perhaps?

Yeah lazyness. That's basically the stock burger so they can make a load and keep them on the warmer. As soon as someone orders something custom they have to make it fresh - which takes a bit longer.

I always order one without relish or onions. You can pick any ingredient(s) to drop.

Good luck to the staff, they're now going to get even more abuse from the chavs.

do they even have more than 5 staff. Its all Touchscreens and people calling out endless number combinations every 20 seconds.

Up till recently I worked for a franchise out the back, 5 stores, about 500 staff. Most of them have left now though because the public have turned into even bigger ***** than they were before lockdown. Even the bouncers gave up.

To be fair though, it really is another example of how prices are rising everywhere.

e.g. Tabasco used to be £1.29 in Tesco, it is now £2.10 which is quite a startling increase.
Tesco own brand lemon & lime fizzy drink was 50p for a two litre bottle up until about a year ago. It then increased to 60p and I noticed at the weekend that it's now 70p.

That's a 40% increase in a year :(

dont know why anybody would be surprised.... mc doanlds also has to pay utility bills which have risen loads, food costs have gone up loads, pay rises to workers also. better to add 20% to one cheap item or would it of been better to of added say 5% over the while menu?

use the mc doanlds app on your phone, you get rewards points and there is always offers on burgers and meals, plus quite often i get 30% of £20 spend or £3 of a 10 spend. i dont buy mc donalds often but the offers are always there

Yes it's not small increases now of a couple of pence. In isolation they don't seem too bad, but along with everything else people are going to really struggle.
