End of the world as we know it.

Bris you live in the UK. you drink **** water from a tap everyday...All your food is washed and prepped in it, I wouldn't worry about a cheeseburger.
If you are lucky all the ingredients are imported at least.

Weird/funny name btw, is it related to the religious act??

Their basic cheeseburger is probably my favourite item from their menu; the ratio of onion, gherkin, tomato sauce and mustard to bun and burger is almost perfect - I add a bit more onion and use a stronger mustard when I make them at home.

I used to work for the biggest flour miller in the UK and McDonald's bought our absolute best flour, the top of the range, most expensive product. A _very_ good flour.

Of course, I can't comment on what they do with it once they've got it but the primary ingredient in their buns is top quality.
Good to know. Still not my cup of tea but for a treat like most things from time to time don't see a problem with it. If people enjoy it as a treat then let people enjoy it!

I think because it's so cheap is where the problems lie as it's easy to overlook better alternatives.

I'm very tempted to try one now. I think the closest I've been to this is either five guys which wasn't great or shake shack which wasn't too bad in terms of "dirty burgers".

Edit: Ugh , 20mile roundtrip for the nearest McDs.... it'll have to wait! :D

Yeah lazyness. That's basically the stock burger so they can make a load and keep them on the warmer. As soon as someone orders something custom they have to make it fresh - which takes a bit longer.

I always order one without relish or onions. You can pick any ingredient(s) to drop.

That's how it used to work when they kept food in the production bin, now every item is "made" to order after having the individual components stored in heating cabinets.

It melts so no they cant.

If my happy meal price goes up they are dead go me.
naah its lazyness.... i have a mate who only ever has a plain burger no cheese, no sauce where ever he goes..... every place i have been in with him, including the golden arches, just make the burger fresh.

i think he is mad....... i dont treat myself to a take away burger often but when i do i want all the goodies.

Tesco own brand lemon & lime fizzy drink was 50p for a two litre bottle up until about a year ago. It then increased to 60p and I noticed at the weekend that it's now 70p.

That's a 40% increase in a year :(
Yep Ginger beer gone up to 70p also :(

perhaps i missunderstood. I assumed that that specific restaurant refused to supply the burger without cheese on because they didnt have one made up already and couldnt be bothered to make one without.

i get that they cant remove the cheese from one already done.

When I was in college, about 20 years ago I guess, the McDonald's nearby, this was High Barnet in London, used to do a deal, 2 regular burgers and 2 regular fries for £2.

I'd get that and a large coffee, because they always charge you the same as a medium (for some reason) so you could get 2 burgers, 2 fries and a large coffee for like £2.79.

Then go down to WH Smith and get the sun newspaper for a penny using the honesty quick pay bucket thing, mainly for the boobs.

Job done.

Been a while since I have had a McDonald's, but good if you can find one open at the end of a night out.
