Look them up on companies house. Avoid.I just don't trust them, they just give me vibes of all the other ones that went bust and the fall out from that.

Tracker isn't a fixed price so comparison is not true.It is mad, this is the tracker December 2023 Vs fixed for the next 12 months.
£567 difference, I know it'll be different with usage etc but that's crazy.
Any difference on standing charges?Need to look at the average on Dec2023 to get a comparison.
Dec2023 entire year average in my area
New tracker (October) is averaging 22.94 so far on electric and 5.94 on gas.
Fixed is 21.51 on electric and 5.85 on gas.
So far fixed wins. But who knows what's going to happen later in the year. There is another increase coming and gas pricing rising.
I used to time washing machine etc though for cheap days. But may be worth fixing and just forgetting all this faff for now.
Standing charges have a good jump of around £8 per month in my region. No way too escape it.Any difference on standing charges?
I'm in the same boat with decent tracker rates coming to an end but haven't looked into different tariffs yet.
Another one here with the renewal email from Octopus. Standing charges are up a bit (South East). Hmmm, what to do..
Gas 27p -> 29p
Elec 48p -> 62p
50p electric one is one of the cheapest, the average across all regions is now 61p. I'm in southern region and its 62p. South East is 58p on the cap, but other tariffs can vary and tracker is not covered by the caps.I thought the SE had the lowest SC or is that London?
My SC is 50.4p/31.8p for Elec/Gas and my region is generally one of the highest by a long margin

Of course people on old fixes will be different.
You can see the October and January rates here. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/informatio...ce-cap-standing-charges-and-unit-rates-regionNot an old fix - I renewed with my current supplier onto a fix in Oct 2024 for the year.... I have looked at their current "new customer" tariffs for me and its all 64p+ for the Elec SC.
I just had a look at my Dec bill just to check and it shows as 48p/day (50.4 when you add the 5% VAT)
Could they have made a mistake?

They are just averages though, suppliers can just different rates if they want. Maybe the unit rate is a bit higher?
Yeah well they are free to charge less. Maybe its just a sign the market is returning to the old normal, some are offering unit rates below that. Eon are doing 20.99p here.Unit rate is 22.24p incl. VAT which is lower than any of the rates on that table
Going to be a painful bill this month. I suspect our highest electricity use ever for a month as a household.
