I have a colleague in a flat who hasn't used her heating once

I get that, but even stuff like lighting, meals etc
I guess if you buy in cooked food /eat elsewhere that difference isn't there in your bills either.

All I see and hear at the moment are energy ads. Radio, trains. Big push at the moment.

I'd be the same mate, well I'd turn it on a little, for me 12c is fine.
It's bloody women, "ohhhh it's cold in here" when it's like 24c.....
Basically what I'm saying is it's women that are destroying the planet.
Constantly got the heating on
Iron
Washing machine
Hair dryer
Hair straighteners
Tumble dryer
Etc
....all the things that use a lot of energy.
Might as well be out there shooting polar bears.

Thing is there are proven health effects of being in sustained temps of like 12c.
If you can afford it its bloody daft to not heat your home to at least 16c.
