I thought the whole idea of being "friends" with the Saudi's and other Arab oil states selling them weapons and turning a blind eye to their human rights abuses apart from being able to have airfields over there was that they would be on our side for things like this and not choose to actually help Russia and think of their profits first

What gave you that idea? We are friends with them so we can sell them arms.

So EDF credited my EDF account with £66 today, but no sign of it heading into my bank account yet, as stated in their email to me.

Anyone know what Octopus are doing regarding the £66/67 a month rebate?

All they have done so far is drop my old DD amount by £67 which now means my energy is costing more per unit but I'm now giving them less money for it per month lol
They seemed to have put me on a payment holiday. Guessing because my bill is under the £66 each month.

Why are energy providers paying the £66 into people's banks? Surely it should just go on everyones account as a monthly credit?
They can reduce your DD by £66/67 for six months or take your full DD and repay you £66/67 for six months, either way another £66/67 is also added to your energy account.

Perhaps administratively the second option works better for some suppliers.

If you were to allocate the 66 pounds to Septembers bill we paid 3 pounds for September electricity and gas!
Both work at home full time too

I suspect October the heating will be on more though.

Octopus have credited my account today with the £66, rather it goes on my account than the bank account to build up a buffer.
That said, I've used less than £70 of electric over the last 6 months.

Maybe pass it on to someone that actually needs it then? Must be plenty here struggling.

I'm in the same situation (although around £15 for the full month of supply across gas and electricity).

I wonder if the Government have screwed up with a price cap AND a £400 credit for all users? I guess we'll see what happens over winter.
