Im with Bulb, do you know if there’s any hidden costs or down sides ?
I’m with bulb and had smart meters installed.

I haven’t been billed since August because they can’t seem to generate a bill based on my meter readings.

My bulb account is now £305 in credit.

Not ideal! How are they asking people to get smart meters installed then don’t know how to process the data.

I’ve spoken with them a few times now and they keep saying that they’ll generate a bill but it never comes.

I’m now on live chat trying to get it resolved.

I'm with Bulb too, have had quite a few emails about smart meter installations and was considering it but may wait....

I keep getting emails from Bulb asking me to get smart meters. Everytime I look at their booking page it only has appointments between 9-5 mon-fri. No good for me who are at work at these times and I'm not taking an afternoon off just to have a poxy meter installed unless they are going to cover the lost wages.

Moved from EON (been with for around 20 years) to So Energy as part of a local council collective scheme to get a good rate to switch.

So far I have been impressed - customer service via e-mail is slightly slow, however nothing I didn't expect given Covid, however otherwise very easy to deal with.

+1 So Energy

Been with Octopus for over a year now. Bought a house on 25th Sept which had a prepayment meter installed (didn't know about it) and so far they can't get it switched out as none of there engineers are qualified in 3 phase apparently! House is all electric but getting gas installed on 29th Jan. Unit rate for the electric is about 19p kw and 30p standing charge. It can cost me £10 a day to heat and keep warm. Thought it would be a quick fix but they are now saying I can go to the ombudsman, not sure if I should.

Is anyone on the Octopus tracker tariff where the rate is variable on a daily basis?

Going on to it till can get them to fit a smart meter so i can then go onto the Agile tariff where rate changes every 30 mins.

Just looked at my IHD today and I noticed a message from 15/12/2020 (that shows just how often I use the IHD...) saying that my smart meters have been switched on. The IHD shows the wrong tariff information and I cannot see my usage on Green account's webpage. So far, so useless!

I had a read of their latest news, updated today (link) which mentions TOU (Time Of Use) tariffs being developed and they are going to release further information shortly. I'm not sure that I want a TOU tariff, especially when it's going to dramatically complicate working out my bills for myself in Excel.
