Energy Suppliers

Hmm with pure planet being so new i am thinking that maybe i should go for the more established bulb or octopus. Are they both essentially the same or are there any obvious benefits/flaws from one over the other? I'd like to be able to leave if they get too expensive, not be stuck in a 12 month contract kind of thing?

I am leaning towards octopus as it seems popular here, so a referral code would be golden if someone would oblige please.

Referral on its way.

Just go with that ever is cheapest after cash back or referrals. It doesn’t matter if they go bust the only risk is rubbish customer service if something goes wrong.

Been looking into switching as our average usage is around £99pm and EDF wants to increase the DD to £140. They're constantly at it and it's really annoyed me. Decided to switch to Octopus so if anyone has a referral code that'd be great thanks.

I have been with Utility Point since July and they have been faultless. Good website that's easy to navigate, bills arrive on time and even shows my submitted meter read history online. Can't complain at all. It's going to hurt when my deal is up in July though as the deal I am on is considerably cheaper than anything available now.

That's good to hear, thanks. I might well badger you for a referral code in the not too distant future!

I did ask about this previously but cancelled DD's can put you on the variable tariff, also I fear that if I cancel it may impact later. It may not but I don't want to risk it.

Just set your DD as low as you can, mine with Octopus is currently at £5 a month until i use all my credit up. Once its all gone i will set it to something slightly low, so at the end i should owe then a small amount. Sick of energy companies purposely running up hundreds of pounds of credit.

recently went with OVO and they claim to pay interest on any credit balance and at a beter rate than i'd get at my bank. not that i want to be to much in credit just incase they go under.

LOL adverts for more dam middlemen - to take their 1lb of flesh ... sure the government didn't have this in mind ... facebook will be next on the bandwagon

The energy 'market' just needs to be ditched, the current status quo is untenable and utterly bonkers. I get a 'cheap' deal that is subsidised by people who don't know or can't shop around in a broken market and many of those are vulnerable or pensioners stuck on the variable tariff.
