Engine dilemma.....

Must be stronger and more reliable than shonky old fords then :D

Best of luck with it.

Not really, just the heads are far better with the squish characteristics, the actual cylinder pressures are no higher than a big boost Cosworth as although the CR is high the boost isn't particularly high and its not as picky about higher temperatures on the compression stroke causing det. Boost and compression ultimately do the same thing, boost has the advantage that you can stuff it through some sort of cooler before you make it go bang.

EDIT: see thats what GE spec anyway. I wouldnt really worry. I mean it was running before yeah until the accident or whatever. Is it Angelas old engine?

It's some guy called 'Bluesol1'.

I might just go for it then, I'll wack a new cometic on there and just suck it and see. Do you think it would help if I use some copper sealant spray too?

Maybe, Ill look into that one if i were you.

I cant really see much of an issue using a stock Honda one TBH. Triple layer metal so that touch of compliance you may need.

www.evans-tuning.com is a site I really rate, plenty of stuff done over there with S300 and Neptune aswell.

I have a brand-new in the packet standard Type-R HG in my garage, left over from when PS did the head rebuild (They mistakenly ordered a B18 item instead of a B20 one from Honda).

It won't work with the larger bores though will it?

Oh and Jonny, if you're serious about selling your turbo setup, lets talk, email in trust ;)

I'll spec my own setup then.... ;)

Here's what I'm looking at:

- Genuine Turbonetics/Garrett T3/T04E 50t .63 A/R
- Egay cast manifold
- Egay downpipe
- Egay intercooler kit
- Tial 38mm Wastegate
- RC 550cc injectors
- Skunk2 turbo 2 cams

I have no concerns about using an ebay intercooler and downpipe, but is the manifold risking it? I know the tubular ones are prone to cracking, but the cast ones seem OK from what I have seen?

A cast one should be fine, yes they are not the pinnacle of performance, but they are pretty robust items. The rest reads pretty much the same as i was looking at when I was thinking about going forced with mine, apart from the turbo, I quite fancied a proper Garret Disco Potato.
