Engineered Wood Flooring

Oh right, my bad, didn't understand that, terribly sorry.

So i presume you have a schedule of works/break down of the quotation, what product is being used and what labour costs are. You know, something actually scientifically analysable other than 'guys, is this piece of string TOO long?'

I have been quoted £1,950 to supply, install / fit 25m^2 worth of wooden flooring in my new property. Does this seem excessive? I personally feel it is about £500 too expensive.

Hello my friend,

I would agree with your saying that it might be a bit more expensive than it should. But make sure you have taken other things in consideration like who is going to install your new flooring. I would rather give £500 more then to have people coming to my house 2 months after we setup and start fixing it and maybe even charging more. We had the best experience with Galacroft Floors http://galacroftfloors.co.uk/ and honestly I would recommend to anyone!Good luck

Depends on the system, subfloor, shape of room etc.

I installed some engineered walnut flooring with a mate a while ago. Remove skirtings/ cut architraves, DPM, battens, underlay, secret nailing, gluing, rad rings. I shudder to think what they'd have charged if we didn't install it.

It sounds very expensive, though it depends on what flooring is being used.

However I've been pricing up some oak engineered flooring for my whole house (I will be fitting it myself) and the cost of the flooring is around £1900 for about 120 square metres.

Blimey, thats cheap. You had a good look at the quality? I'd be expecting a poor spec for that kind of money.
