Grealish does get kicked the crap out of, its just his style and movement that means players tend to clean him out quite a lot. He shows the ball quite a lot but is very good at nicking it away at the last second. Would take him in a heartbeat at United. Hes quality.

He does yes but also you breath on him and he goes down. It’s clearly something he loves. I’m sure Bruno will love it anyway. Pens galore

How are you measuring that?
Measuring what?

DCL has been in poor form for club for a few weeks now, would you still take him to the Euro's or would you want someone like Ings who seems to be banging them in for Southampton on a regular basis?

As you don't watch club football who do you reckon has been performing better for England than Harry Kane, as I said it hasn't been DCL so who do you think should replace Kane?

You just said DCL should go ahead of him??? DCLs form the past 3 months has been poor.

He's not had the best form in the last couple of months but he's also not been that fit or had players that complement him fit. He's also not playing in a side with anything like the creativity Greenwood has at united. Yet he's still scored more goals than Greenwood and offers more of an aerial threat. DCL still has 16 goals in 28 appearances, not many English players have better stats this season. I said at the start of the season I thought he would get 20, don't quite think he will get there now.

I wouldn't compare him to Foden myself, but he's actually got better stats than him anyway.

In what way are his stats better? Haven't they both scored 7 league goals despite Foden being "more of a midfielder"

Measuring performance. Subjective statements about performance don't make it easy to choose a player. Gotta measure it somehow.
You're confusing me now, you said Kane shouldn't go but maybe DCL should and when asked why you keep evading the question, how do you measure performance for a striker if it's not goals?

Pickford/Pope

Walker Maguire Stones
James Rice Henderson (if fit) Chilwell
Mount Foden
Kane

Can't think of a stronger side in my mind, 3-5-2-1 for robustness in defence and James and Chilwell offer such an attacking threat and for overloading the wings.

Yes, I am a Chelsea fan! :p

Another stat is 6 in his last 20.

Greenwood got 1 in 26, which is worse?

Was that the last 26 games?

We are talking about right now.

James ahead of Trent would be an insane thing to do lol

Kane is top scorer in the PL you can't leave him out regardless of whether you think he's done it for England or not.

As for form versus favourites it will never be purely form, no matter what a manager says. It's just a question of how much weighting they give to form, which will make the difference in a handful of positions.

Sterling I can't make my mind up on, he's not the most consistent but I still think I'd put him on the plane.

Overall, I think I'm fair less confident about the England squad than a lot of people, but then again I tend to be quite conservative and have on occasion underestimated young/unproven players a bit.
The CBs in particular concern me... Stones is a liability, Maguire is slow, there's a few options from 'smaller' clubs but maybe not yet proven on the big stages etc. It's far cry from the halcyon days of picking from Sol/JT/Rio/Woody/King etc.

Hes a wildcard that should be there for his ability to change a game. Don't think he should be starting though.

I'm no fan of Kane but I think he's England's best striker by a mile. If England are to do well, they'll need their best players on the pitch playing well.

I like Foden but it's unlikely he'd bring his influence to an England side who don't retain and recycle like Man City do, especially games against good and/or well organised international sides. I've not seen enough of Greenwood to have an opinion.

I think what's important in tournament football is to establish a solid base in midfield that can flex between dominating the ball and not. I'd say either Rice or Kalvin Phillips with Henderson is the most important selection dilemma. I'd probably go for Grealish with them as the more creative player. He's far more direct than Foden is and I think displays more defensive tenacity. My worry with him is that he holds onto the ball too long. Especially when he feels situation pressure. He has a hero complex.

That's a great point. I'd have him in my England team but Southgate will have them all taking multiple touches and whacking long balls all game.

Sterling has also suffered due to Man City's tactics this season. He's a player that thrives on the turnover and the counter attack rather than boring teams to death.

Yeah, he will. Also the opposition will be of a higher relative standard when compared with Man City, so possession will be less, pressure on the ball will be more intense, there will be more mistakes from team mates.

Also the mindset will have to be more prepared for coming back from set backs and digging out goals and results rather than enjoying keep ball and scoring goals for fun, which is essentially what Man City have done for the last however many months when Foden has really come to the fore.

Biggest travesty is this tournament should've been the crowning glory for Wilshere, 10 years ago he was good as any of these kids we're talking about today but the wheels have come off in recent years.
