Henry is on some form on TMS today - great fun.
Some other thoughts from the day: surely (please) Bopara's last chance and Big Bres pushing for a more regular first team place.
Bopara was bound to be nervous; he must have known that with the toothless Indian attack everyone was expecting him to make, at least, a "good" score after being given another go, but he just failed. He's had enough 1st class cricket for us to have a reasonable expectation of a performance under pressure. Cheers for centuries against the Windies, Ravi - but don't call us ...
Bres has had a good run, and I'm not sure where I would put him, but his all-round game is looking brilliant. Not the same bowler as the behemoth that is Tremlett, who can also bat a bit, but I'd really like to see him play more because he seems to bring a lot when he does get the chance.
This is the best England team I've seen in my lifetime tbh, they've pretty much all contributed this series (Pietersen, Prior, Bell, Cook and Morgan have centuries, Strauss and Trott have 50's) says a lot when we're dominating and our arguably our best bowler Swann has only 2 wickets in the whole series and we haven't needed him!
But good against spin and on flat pitches, ie most of the southern hemisphere and therefore test nations. I agree however, though for different reasons. Namely that I don't think he has the temperament. Maybe he needs to grow into that, another question whether he is allowed that time of course. The only thing is I'm not convinced Morgan is going to be good enough long term as a test batsman - his technique looks suspect especially against the swinging ball.
