English & CL Football [6th - 10th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

IF they were the BEST team who could beat ANYONE then they would have beat the other teams and got the points to win the league.

The league table doesnt lie. Just plain bitterness. Best part of this is that Arsenal havent even won it and you making excuses lol

no your argument is silly...the league table just describes who was on average better over a prolonged period of time vs variable quality opponents - not who is the absolute best team at any one moment in time..

say the league was won on goal difference - yet the team who won actually lost to the team in 2nd during the course of the season... they could have lost 6 times to that team (2x in the league, in the league cup, the fa cup, the champions cup and the charity shield)...would finishing higher on goal difference mean that they are a better team? or even if it was 1 point difference between the two...

just because they finished higher in the league does it make them a better team? No it just means that they were better able to thump some 2nd rate teams by a higher score...and be more consistent as opposed to being the best team.

Can't quite believe that more than one person thinks that the league table is pointless. Is it spreading? Anybody else?

It does feel nice to see Man Utd fans slightly worried about Arsenal, means that progress is definitely being made :D!

Not really, like I said at the very start I think Arsenal will eventually fall well short

This whole debate has just been on the hypothetical possibility that Arsenal do win the league

They'll be second or first imo with Man Utd filling the other spot. Can't see Chelsea doing anything without Essien.

but like i said, it doesnt really though does it? team A could beat team B up to 6 times in a season and still lose the title..you would have a difficult job convincing me at least that team B is actually better than team A, given that team B lost to team 6 up to 6 times...?
