English Football [1st - 5th May 2010] **spoilers**

The upside of not winning the league is that Fergie and the Board will realise changes need to be made, at the end of the day, the team with the most spending power will (and probably should) win the league.

Arsenal and United will probably be fighting for 3rd place after Man City next season unless something is done, it's really quite stupid all these billionaires buying success, where other teams can't (Not saying it hasn't happened in the past, but its more potent now).

I'm hoping some good signings and such will happen over the summer, nothing too stupid, I can see Man City buying a load of top players for outrageous amounts of money :p

if thats what man city want to do then its up to them, they should be allowed to buy whoever they want, it will make things more exciting. yes its not good news if your a united, liverpool, arsenal or chelsea supporter, but then you wouldnt be complaing if it happened at your team a la abromovich

Don't get me wrong, Chelsea played well, but I saw a rather unsurprising lack of effort compared to when United went to Anfield.

Ah well, at least this way SAF can't just say "things are fine, we don't need any new players".

Exactly, for the majority of the Premier League they've been able to outbid any other English club.

The top now looks like this:

It didn't bother you I bet when it was just united splashing huge figures to lure players away from other clubs. It's not more potent now, infact I'd say it's harder than when United where so much richer than the rest because now there are more billionaires than when united just bought up the big players.

Even when it was United V Arsenal financially there was only one winner.
