English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Typical reaction from Ferguson, one of these days he'll lose gracefully.

Having seen the first yellow for that young fellow, I'm surprised he didn't get sent off - may not have been the worst challenge in the world, but many have been sent off for lesser cases of retaliation. Not sure about the second being a yellow, he did pull Ribery but looking at the replay the Frenchmans reaction was worse.

Great goal to win it though.

Is that not what Fergie was saying though? he gets a second yellow for a tug near the half way line yet Ribery gets nothing for throwing his elbow across Rafael?

Never mind the 3 shocking tackles in the first 20 minutes that Van Bommel got away with, only getting a yellow. It's inconsistent refereeing, if its a fair playing field we would have won, I've no doubt about that.

Schweinsteiger was just as bad and got nothing all game.

CL referees/OcUK moderaters: seperated at birth.

Dunno, I only saw the last 35 minutes. I would have booked half the Germans in that period, and sent off Rafael for his first yellow card offence (saw it on a replay).

I've no doubt the lesser team won, from what I saw anyway; Man Utd played far better with 10 people then Bayern with 11.

If you are born in Britian that must make you British? English, N Irish, Welsh, Scottish

Fair enough mate...sorry didnt mean to jump down your throat lol...just kinda get fed up of people that keep questioning if im british/english. Tbh ive never like Utd...not really jealous...envious??...yes i am with the amount of success they have had over the past 10-15 yrs....i have to hand it to Fergie though, he knows how to win things...admittedly you guys got unlucky last night and should have been through with a 3-0 lead but listening to SSN...someone mentioned that its a game of 90 mins and not 45 mins.

But im afraid i have to say that i dont support Utd at all...even last yr in the CL final i was firmly behind Barca...even if it was another team i wouldnt support Utd.

As for sympathy?/...you have my sympathy in all honesty....you really really should have been through to the semi finals in all honesty. But a costly mistake by Rafael cost you a place in the semi's...im just surprised that it took Bayern so long to score lol...but lets not forget that even with a man down you still had your chances...Bayern were waiting to get beaten...i have to say their defence really sucked balls in all honesty:p

Said this before Spawn hates anything to do with England and put England down when he can.

Yes and your problem is??..Utd are not England if we are going to be pedantic about it...i mean its no secret that i dont like Utd but meh go cry me a river Locky....and why should i support Utd??...give me one good reason....should i tell you to go support Arsenal or another English team like Liverpool??.

I'm not bitter at all, I pointed out that I was gutted that was all

You and most of the forum revel in MU's failures, you alway have. That is bitter.

I also see that personal attacks just get deleted now and the poster can continue to post

Whatever happened to the weeks ban for personal attacks eh?

Selective moderating again? I remember why I don't bother with this forum anymore.

Well that i wont deny...im not bitter...just a bit fed up of seeing Utd win just about everything...im pretty sure people would feel the same if Arsenal were winning things left right and centre.

Nobody hates me yet so......

I'm happy all the English teams are out. Ideally Lyon will win it now as Bayern winning it causes problems for Italian football and Inter are scum so them losing to Lyon in the final would be ideal. Barcelona I like but I don't want them winning it back-to-back just because Milan last did it (in the European Cup era).

Why am I happy all English teams are out? I went through year after year of school supporting Milan and getting **** for it because we happened to be doing exceptionally well. That and clueless people (like the Sky pundits) giving little respect to foreign opposition and not even knowing who their key players are.

That said, I prefer United and Chelsea to Arsenal and Liverpool.

Did anyone happen to watch the two legs of the all-French tie by the way? The first leg was absolutely brilliant.

nah

bayern played us out 2nd half.

they were lining up to score. it was inevitable - just a matter of time really.

It was inevitable but lets be fair you had a few chances when you were a man down to score...Nani and im pretty sure Gibson had a chance.

I did think at one point that Utd were going to score...i mean lets be honest they were utter cack last night...the sending off helped them no doubt but even with a man up...they still played like cack.

First leg Bayern were the better team...2nd leg definitely Utd were the better team but got unlucky with the sending off.

So you got out played by a crack team? What does that make Utd ;)

They didnt get unlucky with the sending off he was stupid.

i dont think we looked like scoring, we had some half chances... sure nani ran the length of the pitch and had a shot, and gibson had a shot from outside of the box...

but it was never a case where we had sustained pressure, bayern just had too much for us in midfield at that point.

carrick completely spooning everything up didnt help, he missed a chance too.

Who what??...crack team??...is that a team made up of crack addicted players??:p

Yes it was stupid and unlucky...unlucky because up until the sending off Utd were doing well...not in complete control but were doing enough to nullify Bayern scoring opportunities.

Benfica are no mugs, the game could still go either way.. I certainly won't complain if we go out as we deserve nothing for this years dismal effort and hopefully Fulham can get a decent result especially after their immense win over Juve. Having said that, another piece of silverware wouldn't go a miss to our vast colection :p

Man Utd were good in the first half but in the second half they weren't. Bayern were practically lining up to score for 20 - 25 minutes and I couldn't believe that Man Utd didn't have a striker on the field for about 20 minutes in there, there was nobody whatsoever to hold the ball up when it kept getting hoofed out, very questionnable tactics from Ferguson

No mugs but it'd be nice if they could try and win the league title without ensuring three of Braga's key players got suspended for months as punishment for being attacked by Benfica players in the first meeting between the two earlier in the sason. Benfica's players weren't suspended. I used to think Porto were bad!

Cardozo will need to be a lot less wasteful tonight. I'm concerned that Benfica will either do very well or find themselves 3-0 down about an hour in.

Edin Dzeko needs to secure his move to United, City or another big club with money (i.e. not Milan *sob*) by having another good performance tonight. The Wolfsburg defence is so bad I can see Fulham scoring at least once.
