English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Oh dear lol...dont think anyone is coming as bitter as you Gimp in all honesty.

Anyhow its been a perfect evening for me to say the least...after the mauling we got last night i have to say i quite enjoyed tonights match.

lol you are sucking a lemon as we speak

Cant wait for Wigan to turn you over at the DW

Sigh, some sad people in this world, almost as bad as SPL thread.

Someone needs to mention Hitler/Nazis and the discussion is defunct

It's still a European Cup. In fact England seem to be the only nation who call it a "micky mouse cup"

thats because its not the highest honor.

fair enough for a team like fulham, everton etc. but liverpool are meant to be european giants. right now your basicly saying oh its cool, we'll win the Championship... like winning the Championship would be something to boast about to Man Utd...

LOL sorry did you say something??...sucking a lemon?/..im not in the least worried about your team...

Watching Man Utd WIN the game 3-2 is what you'd call a good evening eh? ;)

No watching them getting knocked out is what i call a good evening;).

I understand your frustration but Rafael got a deserved yellow for tugging him back, it's not the refs fault it was his 2nd :)

by that reasoning BM should have been down to 9 men before the 2nd half began!!!

They seriously got away with murder in the 1st 45.

Robben's goal was incredible - but no way did they deserve a result tonight. even after Rafael was sent off they didnt have that many shots on target (even down to ten I bet Utd had more)

Nani has had some decent games recently - he has also had some shockers (AC Milan away I seem to remember being one)

I dont think he will ever be consisistant - but you cant fault him over tonight (even if his flicked goal did kind of remind me of Scholes's standing foot one)

im hoping the result tonight will show United need to sign big in the summer, they need 2 top central midfielders, as Hargreaves cant be counted on anymore.

They need one great ball winner and a second top offensive midfielder to feed Rooney, they could also do with a natural left winger.

The big 4 or 5 need to take a good look at themselves, they have taken a huge step back in their performances over the last year and need to act accordingly, id like to see some big money spent besides Man City this summer.

I don't think the English sides ever really "dominated", now I know people will disagree, but domination means winning things to me, Liverpool won the Champions league once, and Manchester United did.

Nobody remembers who came second, history is written by the winners.

I don't think Manchester United can blame the ref, I just think Bayern are a underrated side and played well over two legs. Started poorly in both but got better and grew in confidence.

Robben and Ribery looked a bit "meh".
Valencia and Nani were excellent in the second leg, I felt Evra and Samba Nev (despite his fouls) was quite good.

Barcelona are just amazing, I seriously don't see how Arsenal fans are saying the just lost to Messi. I wouldn't take a single Arsenal player over a Barca player, nor would I take many Premiership players over the Barca players. (would be interesting to see who other people would maybe take) Barcelona destroyed Arsenal over two legs, taught them how to play football. You can't go toe to toe with Barca and try and play football, you'll lose.

Inter look classy, not amazing, but solid and classy. Will be a really interesting game against Barca, I expect Inter will sit and defend but will look for a goal.

Lyon have a really good side, play really good football and I'm pleased to see them getting somewhere in the competition :)

Hope they do make the final, although it will be a good game against Bayern.

Anyway, my massive wall of text is over and I'm going back to FM with a beer :)

Spawn - genuine question - are you English?

LOL oh here we go again:rolleyes:...i make a few comments and i get people jumping on my back saying im not english enough as i should supported Utd tonight...sorry id rather slit my own throat and wrists than support them in all honesty.

But no im not english to answer your question...im british born though....still dont see whats the point of your question though??...is it because im happy Utd are out??...yeh sure im happy, its made my night in all honesty but it could have been any team putting them out....im not a Bayern supporter and definitely dont like the German teams but if it was Standard Liege or some other rubbish team putting Utd out...it still wouldnt have changed my mind that i wanted Utd out....am getting fed up of them winning just about everything lol:p...but then thats all down to Fergie and how well he uses his squad...although this season has been a bit up and down for Utd....still wouldnt rule them out for the EPL title.

Disgraceful display by red nose tonight. On two counts. Firstly, his after match summation, making out that his were the better team, would have won with 11 men and blaming everyone except Rafael for the sending off. Rafa must be his scriptwriter.

And secondly, can you imagine the uproar if someone like Jose had made the "typical of the Germans" comment. I bet this will be suppressed by his masonic friends.

I didn't think Ribery was on the top of his form tonight. But Robben with his one foot was awesome.

I was quite shocked when he said that...i dont think there was any need for it in all honesty plus he mentioned that he knew Bayern would go for Rooneys ankle...well perhaps he needs to go to specsavers and get his eyesight tested because i didnt see any nasty tackles on Rooney...he injured himself again but going for a ball and landed a bit wrong-ish.

I guess Fergie was feeling a bit sore after losing tonight due to the sending off as theres no doubt that was the turning point....up until then i couldnt really see Bayern scoring to go through.

But i hope he gets punished for those comments...and as for Ribery?...i dont know why people make him out to be something special in all honesty...hes a good player yes but isnt really that good...even in the first leg i dont think he really stood out...definitely didnt tonight thats for sure due to Rafaels marking of him before the lad got sent off.

Not that I agree with all your post but I did think that the 'typical of the Germans' was a ridiculous comment and not something you'd expect from a professional football manager, or anybody with a brain

Well I was going to comment on your patriotism failure, but i've not seen you asked it before so you can't really call me on that one. :p

I can understand where you're coming from as I feel the same about Liverpool. Nothing can ruin my season as long as they don't get fourth and I get to watch the Spanish Waiter wriggle as people state "But you promised CL football next season?". :D

However is it just a jealousy thing? I have to admit, I was supporting Arsenal last night. I quite like some of the football they play. Same with Chelsea, and Fulham, and just about every other English team.

It just seems odd. I expected it from the Scousers but I kinda guessed the Arsenal supporters would show a little more sympathy! :(
