Tonight's top of the table:

Absolute disgrace from Arsenal tonight.

Spurs played well and fully deserved their win but Arsenal were just hopeless.

I've had with Diaby and Silvestre they can sod right off in the Summer. Almunia can join them and we better get two keepers because Flappy's no better.

I thought Sol had a great game and, more importantly, showed a lot of heart and determination tonight. The rest of the team could learn a lot from him.

I'm off to drown myself in whisky now and God help anyone who winds me up at work tomorrow.

Yep agree with your sentiments..we were absolute pap until RVP came on...should have started him in all honesty:(

Oh well thats our season finished...Spuds played well i have to say so well deserved victory...took you lot long enough to beat us:p...but then we were missing a few our top players and had to do with our rubbish ones ie malteaser head Silvestre for a start...geez everytime he plays i cringe.

Almunia is our new lemon aka Lehmann...guy is a proper fool as a keeper...time to dump him as well...

Looks like the title is between Utd and Chelski...3rd isnt too bad considering that we struggled last season to get 4th.

Hope all you want, Spurs have closed that huge gap that has existed to a much smaller gap. We now have some real quality players.

Spurs Reserves 2 - 1 Arsenal Reserves ;)

Fixed;):p

Enjoy your victory Spuds...would have been a very different outcome had we had Fab, Gallas and Song back...geez our injuries just get worse and worse.

I swear Wenger buys players made of glass:p

I agree Spawn, when I look back on this season I'll see it as a good one but there is an element of opportunity missed. Can only hope that Wenger has realised the squad needs strengthening and we'll be back in with a chance I feel.

RVP was good, his touch and passing idea's were great when he was on, but it wasn't just down to him, it was the system. 4-5-1 sucked great balls against a semi decent team....... AGAIN.

The second we went to 4-4-2 even Diaby played better, infact every player still on the pitch (except Silvestre) played better once we switched to a 4-4-2. We do not have the players for 4-5-1, against pacey wingers/fullbacks our Nasri/Rosicky/Arshavins just don't have the pace, nor stamina, to run the wing right the way up and back all game long. For the umpteenth game this season both Rosicky and Nasri looked shattered by half time.

Where was Merida, he's a quality player, has bags of pace, can cross, has a left foot.

Diaby and Denilson were balls, moving Rosicky inside where he would have less running to do, Merida on the left would have been the best setup and might have given us a chance.

you HAVE to have a player with Messi/Henry/Malouda/Robben/Ribery pace and dribbling ability to play a 4-3-3/4-5-1, it DOES NOT WORK without it, we have no one with the dribbling or pace let alone both in one player.

RVP did look very decent though, the second you put two strikers up against the defence both strikers suddenly have half the people marking them, throw in a late midfield runner and you make space.

Sagna(he's been exactly as crap as he is now, since exactly two years ago when he came back end of his first season), Almunia, Sagna, Diaby, Denilson all HAVE to go with replacements for all before Arsenal can really challenge for a CL title.

EDIT:-Campbell was pretty impressive, again...... looks like when he's playing to get a proper contract, he can put the effort in still. Sagna was FAR more at fault for the goal than Silvestre, as Silvestre/Clichy held a good line, Sagna was so far out of position it was embarassing. Doesn't stop Silvestre's truly terrible distribution being awful throughout or being too slow, and stupid to play anymore.

I doubt, your best player wouldn't have played for a start. Just think how big the defeat may have been had Spurs had their injured players involved. Lennon would have been more effective than Bentley, and Palacios would have given Modric a lot more freedom.

Still, a win is a win and like when Spurs won 5-1 it all seems to comeback to Arsenal fans moaning about injured players. Why can't they accept it as a defeat fair and square like Spurs fans have for the last 11 years in the league.

Ahem, I haven't mentioned our injuries once thanks very much.

Having said that though, Cesc, Arshavin, Song and Van Persie starting would have meant an Arsenal win, Lennon or no Lennon :p

Can only hope we do...Wenger needs to get rid of the deadwood in our club ie the ones who have the odd one or 2 good games...we need more consistent players.

Ermmm when we lost 5-1 we didnt have any of our first team squad playing...you beat a bunch of kids in the worthless cup because quite simply Wenger doesnt take that mickey mouse trophy seriously.

Im not moaning about us losing...well ok i am:p but we were outplayed by a better Spuds side...and even though u think we are moaning about our injuries...lets face it you would have got spanked like you did earlier at Emirates had we had Gallas, Song and Fabregas fully fit...doesnt take a genius to figure that out;)....or maybe it does:p:D.

Anyhow i said it before and ill say it again...well played and after 11 long yrs of being on the losing end...it was bound to happen.

I guess Arsenal now have to concentrate on getting 3rd...we have Man City coming up and i think we are going to get battered by them in all honesty.

Dont give me the injury excuse

Spurs played 120 minutes on sunday and lost a few players and the match on a terrible pitch, yet they showed more commitment?

It's irrelevant because Spurs won the game, but you can't deny that it was a seriously depleted Arsenal lineup, far moreso than Spurs. It just highlights the lack of depth in our squad and shows what needs to be addressed for us to get closer to Man Utd and Chelsea.

A tale of two keepers. Almunia was poor, Gomes was sensational. After not having much to do all game, Gomes made three world class saves in a row and then kept cool under sustained pressure.

You don't realise just how exceptional King is until he plays against the big sides. He was a rock today. Not just defending wonderfully but also disturbing the ball well. On several occasions in the second half he set up good counter-attacks for Spurs.

Also thought that Modric had one of his best games. When we were under pressure in the second half, he really ran the game.

Could have been 5-1 if Woodgate, Corluka and Lennon had been fit and Palacios wasn't suspended. :p
