West Ham just look no where near match fit though, they lack pace in the centre, and Kovac is utter utter tripe. They looked hugely better for the first 20mins of the second half and they had several very good chances to score, but after 15-20mins they obviously ran completely out of steam. They need some serious fitness training, some matches, their faster players, Ilunga, Faubert, Boa Morte, just weren't at the races today. Faubert who is really quite good just didn't get a thing right today.

But then Villa are a 6th place side playing a side that should be midtable, and Villa played very well at home and looked incredibly well prepared and fit for the season on top of that.

Reid doesn't look good so far, if thats match fitness, or just him being crap we'll see in a few games I guess. Da Costa, not sure if he's still there, as he was playing very well at the end of the season. Parker looked distinctly lacking in match fitness aswell and he's usually their midfield dynamo.

Thing is though, players can take a long time to adjust to a new manager, Villa haven't had that yet as the guy is playing the same way with the same idea's as O'neill, who had them all preseason, they could quite easily go through a downturn in form with a new manager that wants to play a different way.
