The only difference between Berbatov last year and this year, is higher goal scoring rate so far, I dread to think what fans will think of him when he plays as well but doesn't score every game like last year.
He was superb last year, touch, retaining posession, making the right choices to pass to the right people at the right time.
The biggest difference in goal scoring form is most of the team are looking to Berbatov first rather than Rooney for creating chances, largely because Rooney has been completely ruddy awful since the end of last season. Rooney's touch was awful today, almost every "control" resulted in it bouncing up into his legs or a yard away which just delays the next movement he wanted, his passing was truly absymal, maybe the one shot he had was really poor, crossing, very poor, just useless really.
If the whole team crosses/passes into Rooney and he scores a lot, Berbatov isn't getting a huge number of chances and as with all strikers, he missed quite a few of the ones he does get, when the whole team crosses/passes to Berbatov, the reverse is true, theres almost always one form striker everyone tends to try to set up for goals, and in doing so they'll score more.
Anelka managed to get 2 great goals last week without Drogba(I don't think he played) and when Drogba does play everyone focuses on Drogba, Anelka scores less.
Every other part of berbatov's game was outstanding last year, and better the year before, he had a MARGINALLY worse season last year, mostly fans are idiots and change their minds about a player every 3 games regardless of whats actually going on.
