English League Football ** spoilers ** [17th - 21st September 2010]

Liverpool are absolute ******** now. Wouldn't be suprised if they got relegated or at least low half finish.

Man United are not good enough this season. Very poor defensively. Not quite the same from 2 years ago. Struggling team. But will finish 3rd.

Not only defensively, but offensively as well. When you lose Ronaldo and Tevez over the Summer, I don't care which team you are, you are going to be less potent.

Before, they could make defensive errors, but still rely on their strikeforce to outscore the opposition. These days (when Berbatov isnt scoring a hat-trick), when they score 1 or 2 goals, it looks like they are going to lose.

Still, it's early days yet and I hope that Man Utd improve as the season progresses. No point in peaking in September.

Turned out to be a great game yesterday, torture to watch at the time though but like last seasons game with City it'll be a game you look back at as being a classic

Hopefully being able to recover from blowing a 2 goal lead will get us out of this nasty habit we're in of blowing leads

Regarding Nani as much as it irritates reading you lot slate himmfor being the anti christ of football some of his actions yesterday was pretty cringeworthy. Ronaldo managed to remove that from his game so hopefully Nani will as well because the positives in his game deserve to be highlighted rather than the negatives

Not liking the quotes that have come from Agger this weekend. Doesn't seem happy with Roy, the style of football he's playing or the fact he's been relegated to the bench.

Daniel Agger has admitted that he is frustrated by Roy Hodgson’s style of play at Liverpool.

The attack-minded defender will be eager to forget his brief cameo at Old Trafford yesterday after failing to prevent the cross that led to Dimitar Berbatov’s winning goal just two minutes after he had replaced Paul Konchesky at left-back.

Agger, who was also left out of the starting line-up against Birmingham City last weekend, has lifted the lid on his frustrations behind Hodgson’s approach to games and has refused to alter his natural game despite fears that it could see him overlooked for a regular place in the side.

He said: "The manager's philosophy is that we play football in attack, but not at the back. That's not my style.

“I'm not that type of player. I like to keep the ball on the ground, and that's what I'll keep doing. Time will show if he [Hodgson] doesn't want to play me because of that".

"I'll try to change myself, but I will never be a player who offloads the ball at every opportunity."

"I'll fight for my chance. I know what I stand for, and I think he [Hodgson] does too".

Honestly don't know how are best CB has suddenly become a deputy to Konchesky on the left :(

I was told by a Fulham fan that Hodgson wanted thier CB's to simply defend and not try to play football. Agger's just go to confirm that.

Can't say I watched much of Fulham other than their European games so I don't know if that's Hodgson's style or not. Hopefully syke can enlighten us but I hope Agger's wrong.

Not sure really, Hangeland/Hughes used to carry the ball out to towards the half way line and try to distribute it. That was mostly Hangeland's job as he is two footed, although he used to always try do a killer ball down the middle and fail.

Although against the bigger teams, Etuhu/Murphy would collect it from them.

Great interview from Berbatov:

After being interview by Sky Sports after our 3-2 win over Liverpool, Dimitar Berbatov gave an interview with a Bulgarian TV network in his native tongue.

Here is the translation, with Berbatov being referred to as Mitko, the name he is known by in his home country.

Mitko you have had a troubled time…

I wouldn’t say troubled. I am not troubled. I am lucky. I have loved my time here.

A disappointing time. Would you say that?

I was disappointed with myself that I could not please all the supporters. I have said before the people of Manchester United are the judges and that is the way it should be. It is their team. I am a guest. A privileged guest.

This season what has changed?

Man, I don’t know but I’m just so happy. So confident. I feel like everything I imagine on the pitch will come true and that feels awesome. I have worked hard on my fitness. So hard. I’m not a weights guy, I’m sure you can see by my body, but I have been trying even to work on that. I ran 6 miles every day during the off season. I watched one World Cup match, went for a run. Then watched another and went for another run. This was my routine.

Wow…you must be tired!

No man that’s the thing. This crowd at Old Trafford. The way I feel right now. I’m not tired. I feel alive. I have always said I am so lucky to play here. For these people. For this manager. For this club. With these players. I can’t describe it man.

It is showing. Keep it up Mitko. What will you do now. Will you watch your goals?

No. Noooooooo! I can’t watch myself. Even when I came off and everyone was applauding I felt so shy. I love it but I don’t know how to react to it. I’m going to go home. Play with my family and maybe watch a movie later. I can’t wait for training. How weird is that?!
