English League Football ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th September 2010]

I remember the days when I used to wonder why he didn't get picked as England's LB (this was pre-Ashley Cole), and then I realised that's because he was desperately average.

EDIT: I just read the Brighton have been holding onto a 15% clause on Barry for years now. They must have been gutted at the time all those Liverpool bids got turned down for him.

Would be nice to have Boateng and Kolarov, but you could field much worse teams against Chelsea.

4 - 5 - 1 at home?

Thought such a massive club as Manchester City would be a bit more attacking.

Dembele had an MRI scan today;

Fulham FC said:
Following the injury to Mousa Dembele sustained during the Carling Cup fixture against Stoke, the Club can confirm that an x-ray showed there was no fracture to the ankle, however an MRI scan has revealed some ligament damage, that will need to recover, prior to a return to training.

:(

For Saturday only, I'm a Man City fan.

:p

I cant go THAT far (even if I am hoping for CFC to lose/draw a few games soon - but I am hoping for a hard-tackling draw to come out of it at the least:D

(no ill will meant to any individual player - but a few first choice players not being available for a few games would make a more interesting season)

You have other forwards you could play.

It's a shame you don't have Bellamy, he tore Chelsea apart and was fantastic last season for you.

They are injured SideWinder, Boateng was supposed to be back weeks ago but someone drove a aeroplane trolley into his strapped up knee on the plane to romania, Kolarov has a knee injury like Balotelli.

Paul Merson said:
If they lose on Saturday they're out of the title race because they'll be 10 points behind Chelsea. I know it's early, but if I'd asked you at the start of the season who'd win the title - Man City or Chelsea, but Chelsea have a 10-point headstart - you'd give City no chance.
Yes Paul, 6 games in and we can start ruling out teams already based on results. Sure.

If you clarified the last sentence with "Oh, and Man City have already played Tottenham and Liverpool once, whilst Chelsea have yet to play anyone who finished higher than 10th in the league last season", do you not think it might make the situation a teensy bit more realistic?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Speaking of Paul Merson, why is this quote in the Sky Sports quotes of the week feature? http://www.skysports.com/quotes/0,20648,11061,00.html

City aren't going to win the league in my opinion, so they should be doing everything they can to win one of the other trophies.

Well done Captain Obvious, unfortunately for City, they have been knocked out of the tournament they were most likely of winning. They will just have to hope they can get far in the FA Cup.
