English League Football ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th September 2010]

W Brom penalty awarded. Slight sense of the player playing for it on the slow mo replay but a fair award probably.

Crap penalty too close at the keeper. Saved by Almunia, hopefully this won't cover up his inadequacies. W Brom continue to do well, playing very effective counter attack football.

Massive boo from the Anfield crowd at half time and I don't blame them. Bar a very lucky goal we've offered nothing in attack and look absolutely useless at the back. I fear for Roy I really do. He looks clueless on the bench.

Liverpool players heads have dropped and Sunderland are looking far more likely to score. Some management or inspiration from Hodgson wouldn't go a miss right about now.

He will probably help by putting on another defensive midfielder and saying in the post match interview that he didn't have high expectations :)

Half Time - Liverpool 1(Kuyt) Sunderland 1(Bent Pen)

Well were just attacting sunderland down the middle generating no width so nothing much is working since its repeat repeat, I honestly think a change or least try a different formation as 4-1-4-1 doesnt seem to be doing much agiasnt any team.

Half Time Scores:

Arsenal 0-0 West Brom
Birmingham 0-0 Wigan
Blackpool 0-1 Blackburn
Fulham 0-0 Everton
Liverpool 1-1 Sunderland
West Ham 1-0 Tottenham

We seem to be struggling against a promotion team, tired or not it shouldn't happen to a top 4 club! Hope to see Vela, Wilshere or rosicky in the 2nd half

Eboue, Kos and nasri are the only ones to start both matches. Arshavin, Chamakh and clichy were all subs at spurs.

No doubt Rafa will get the blame again. It's like the media have forgotten/are ignoring the fact we finished 7th last season and were without Gerrard and Torres for much of it. Roy has both of these players fit and he's playing to the strengths of neither and failing epically.

Slow start from Arsenal, the occasional un-inspired game is inevitable though, see Chelsea earlier. West Brom have worked hard and deserve to go in having a clean sheet. Great save from Almunia, strangely enough the thing I always feel confident of is him saving a penalty, where most goalkeepers are most vulnerable.

Quick question for Liverpool fans, is Gerrard being played with 2 other CMs so he has more chance to roam? In fact, where is he playing?

Put Rosicky and take Eboue off. Chamakh's looked a bit isolated and we're too narrow bar Sagna putting in crosses, who we shouldn't be relying on to do.

edit - think it was Eboué at RB midweek.

Blatant Sunderland penalty not given. Defence bypassed yet again and Reina takes out Wellbeck.

Edit: Now it is 2-1 Sunderland.

No offence to the Roy supporters but he's a joke.
