English League Football ** spoilers ** [30th October - 2nd November 2010]

A win but by no means convicing cause Maxi looked dead in last few mins, joe cole is out and if their not back by next weekend we have chelsea and other than Kuyt who is still injured we have a babel who is poop as a replacemeant for one of them.

BAH! =/ Great flick on by torres for maxi, We played better when gerrard went into the middle and Ngog came on however i honestly think if we could sign a bigger stronger forward who would play with torres we might see an improvemeant from him whilst having an extra striker that we need.

All in all just an average with good parts performance i hope we build it on but we shall see
 
It's a win, but it still wasn't convincing and I am somewhat worried that Hodgson didn't appear to have any plan b. Up until the goal he had only made 1 sub and that was injury forced rather than tactical, to all purposes it looked like he was going to settle for 1 point and wasn't going to try and mix things up by making any attacking subs. Now it would be easy for me to sit here and say well we got the result so he was right, but I don't believe that's the case, the goal could really have gone anywhere with the amount the keeper got on it, luckily it went in off his leg rather than out, but that could easily have been 0-0 with Hodgson not seeming to have a backup plan
 
Excluding Soto and Skrtel, we were incredibly average until Ngog came on and then we started to play a bit. Ngog and Maxi started to get the ball under control and we started to pen Bolton in and the goal was a matter of time.

A win's a win though.

edit: and if Davis is like this every week then how the **** isn't he getting any stick for diving? He chucked himself to the ground every single time the ball was played anywhere near him.

Every challenge except one close to the end was spot on, got the ball on all occasions.. he should be shot for backing off nolan for the first goal tho.

It WAS a clear pen and a clear sending off.. and you guys beat us easily as we didn't turn up at all.. the best team won basically.. but don't start talking ***** like the above.. take the win and hold your head high.

Firstly, not even close to a Newcastle fan, secondly, I said Bardsley should be sent off just for being a ****, which he is, he's a mouthy little turd who almost every game does 2-3 x rated challenges that actually deserve to have him sent off, he reacts to everything, gets in shoving matches, he's one of the biggest ****'s in the league.

Cattermole put a few elbows in and other things as he did with the Nolan tackle, theres always an extra shove and a late foot.

Didn't say Mensah did anything wrong, again he ALMOST got sent off for NOT BEING ABLE TO SHUT UP. Also he trod on Nolans foot first, they were both doing that rather gay heavy leaning into each other, he trod on Nolans foot and Nolan gave him an extra big shove, then he just couldn't shut up as the ref told him to stop it, after a yellow he continued to mouth off.

He's gone done in my estimations a fair bit from this game. Thought he was great at holding up the ball and being consistently strong but that's only when he wants to be. Amount of time he went down was ridiculous when you know how strong he is.
 
Still dont agree.

I'm perfectly mature enough to admit we were the worse team but i still cannot see these issues you have with some of our players. I've watched bardsley for a few seasons now and i've never seen anything major.. perhaps your seeing things from a different angle?

I still don't see the issue with JM.. Mensah was defending himself but the ref was having none of it.. while Nolan stood next to the ref with a big smug grin on his face.. I found that image interesting. Had a nice chat with the ref at the end whistle too..

However they do say that football is a game of opinions.. we both have them.
 
So all the Hodgeson haters, Liverpool's results are improving and they are now a whole massive 3 points off 5th place, hell he even had Maxi look like a footballer for a few minutes in that game.

3 in a row might be a big ask, especially as its Chelsea next, so I expect them to drop places next game but after that, Wigan Stoke, West Ham.

No doubt losing to Chelsea will have half the fans calling for his head straight away. I don't think they will, but I'll laugh if they finish ahead of where they did last year. With the squad and losing players with no money and a massive change behind the scenes theres no reason they should finish near where they did last year.

Bardsley gets in a shoving match, of mouthing off fight with the ref, or looks angry enough to kill someone just when a throw gets called the wrong way. I'm fairly sure he got shown the exit at Utd because Fergie thought he was way too mouthy, violent, not good enough and attitude issues, then he went to play under Keane who built a team of mouthy attitude problem players. He might be marginally less bad, haven't seen Sunderland lately, he's just a player I've generally always disliked.

Theres defending yourself but more likely being overly enthusiastic about pointing out he did nothing wrong, ref's screw stuff up the whole time, its rare to talk yourself into a card for it, its rarer to get a card for it and continue mouthing off. Its not like I care, or hate Mensah, I just found it funny that of 1-2 others that were lucky to not get sent off Mensah actually came the closest for doing basically nothing.

As for Nolan I think he was just laughing at how mouthy Mensah was, he knew there was nothing in it, I mean how many times a weekend do you see the ref call two players over for a word, and nothing more happens, no one cares, ref's probably just want a bit of camera time and to feel all involved. NOlan just looked a bit bemused that Mensah gave a crap.
