Entanet possible peak time change

I had the changes confirmed this morning.

Starting Midnight, Friday 2nd January 2009, the off-peak period for all Entanet’s ADSL products will operate between 00:00hrs and 08:00hrs, 7 days a week. Peak hours will therefore operate between 08:00hrs and 00:00hrs, 7 days a week. The new peak and off-peak operating times are being implemented to bring the ADSL products in line with Entanet’s ADSL2+ products.

Migration time I think. Not been impressed with Entanet overall. In terms of stability and response time they are great, but the download limits are quite poor. Mainly because even off peak i usually only get half the speed I pay for when synced at the full 8Mb.

Damn where to go to now.

I would have thought all the suppliers would have e-mailled thier customers with this.

Im connected to an exchange with literally sod all. The only LLU services are 8Mb and from people like Orange, TalkTalk etc. In other words, there is no real migration path. Might just have to suck it up until 21cn hits at some point next year.

Theres going to be a masssive exodus now, everyone only went mainly for the off peak including weekends, i know i did, and with changing it to midnight to 8am only now, the pipes will go into meltown, as everyone only has those times now, they going to have to change all their packages and pricing now as well imo, off peak will have to go unlimited, and they'll have to make bigger peak caps.

You have to laugh though when they say, 'to bring it inline with their ADSL2+ service', yes sure, how many people can get that yet, im not due for that till back end of next year.

Think ill deffo go to Be now then.

The big problem for me is my exchange is not llu and I very much it will in the near future due to us being in the sticks. Any idea of a isp that offers a decent alternative to the entanet resellers ?

According to that thread now, Enta's delayed it for 17 days, so it starts the 19th now.

Thanks Enta. :p

Jason from UKFSN said hes going to try and sort something out with them on Monday, so im going to hang fire on the MAC request for now, see what comes from that, a bigger peak cap would be good like. :D

Ive just checked up about ADSL2+, and its changed to the end of March 2011 for me now, so wtf is the point of bringing me inline with it if i can't even get the **** till then.

Ah *******! I'm on a small exchange with no LLU enabled and I am on the 30GB package. There are 4 internet users in my house and most of the internet usage is during the weekends - I reckon we'll go over 30GB with these new changes.
Entanet have been brilliant but it looks like I'll need to change. :(

i spoke to both my entanet resellers adsl24 and titan and both have said they found out late afternoon. both are claiming they are planning to fight enta on this.

I am with adsl24 and hope they try to get enta to rethink this move. I think the least they can do is lower the price if they insist on the new peak hours that they are thinking of introducing.

My reply from Titan

Hi

Today is the first time we found out as well and are in discussion to find out why this is happening and as a result we will be trying to get this overturned.

Kind regards

So lets hope they can do it.
