Entanet possible peak time change

I will be interested to see how this affects business customers as if I start getting complaints, we will have to look for another Business ISP (and migrating 100+ accounts)
I moved from Enta to Be at home and so far it's been ok

I moved from UKFSN onto the O2 home access package via the F&F deal. I was connected last Wednesday and have done quite a bit of downloading since then, the only downside is that if you're into gaming I wouldn't bother unless you like interleaving as they won't turn it off. I've tried a couple of times to be told that under no circumstances will they turn off interleaving. Other than that they're great and I'm getting around 650k a sec on my downloads from usenet.
o2 is one of my shortlisted isp`s
What is the situation re GB per month?,Is there a peak/off peak?
Do they throttle torrents?
No info i could see on their `Fair Usage
:)
No cable or LLu in my area :(

Just been looking at o2 and Vodafone
No statement i can find on what is`fair usage`
Anyone know what they apply to this?

3.1 In normal use the Broadband Service allows unlimited data transfer over our network. If, however, we reasonably believe that your use of the Broadband Services, including (but not limited to) the total amount of data which you download or upload, is not consistent with normal, fair and reasonable use of the internet then we will be entitled, at our option, to: impose limits on the amount of data which you may transmit; charge you reasonable additional data transfer charges; or suspend or terminate the Services.
3.2 Wherever reasonably possible we will give you written notice before taking any such action, and allow a reasonable period to allow you to modify your use.

in their T&C under "Fair Use"

normal, fair and reasonable use of the internet
But what do they consider to be normal, fair and reasonable use of the internet?
I don`t consider my monthly usage to be excessive but i bet a lot of people would
I like to know before i sign away my soul (well sign up for 12 months :) ) what i can safely use per month

Same boat for us - we've almost got everyone off Eclipse, having used them since 2003 and watched them go down the tubes (though they are better of late). I really don't fancy migrating our Enta accounts to somebody else...

All the buzz for O2 seems to be LLU service. If you're stuck with BT whole sale version, I doubt it will compare well.

there's no peak/off peak, no torrent throttling from what I can see. Their fair usage is quite vague, but I've done around 80gb since Wednesday and it's still flying for me.

My average monthly usage with UKFSN has been around 300 off peak and 80 peak so i fall into the overuser catagory even though all i can get is a paltry 2 mb if i am lucky
Looks like i am going to have to change my DL habit and cut back a bit:p:o

Looks like I might be jumping ship to O2 this week, speeds have dropped off drastically on Entanet recently, plus with F&F discount it's a very good price.

I've read around a bit on the ADSLGuide forums, and can't see any posts about people getting slapped by the FUP so I should be fine hopefully, fingers crossed anyway :)

Hmm, I was aware BT Wholesale had upped their prices and things would eventually filter through to me, but I thought it would only be a price hike of a few quid which I was ok with .I dont think I'd like a price hike and a negative change in the plans available. ^^;

I've got a dual stack IPv6/IPv4 address with Enta too, Not sure If I could get that anywhere else.

any more news?

The throttling was an error in the ALT script. The main resellers will be having words with Enta during the next few days to discuss the future. So hold on for the results of that basically. The resellers have quite a bit of power to change Enta's decisions if they do not agree with them and having customers interests at heart is only a good thing for their subscribers.

Aquiss seem to have successfully migrated all customers to IPstream connect, which is a good thing for the future there.

I thought Entanet alright but then the speed gradually get lower and lower, I have a better connection on my BT!

They also blocked my Dads internet twice without telling anyone, had to ring up and ask why and then they gave some bad answer. Think going downhill

The meetings will hopefully answer some questions that customers have about what the future holds for Enta and their resellers. I have just jumped over to o2 access due to no LLU and I am just hoping all goes well. From what I have read on various forums it seems that quite a few of the resellers are looking at other suppliers if Enta do not offer some decent deals but one thing does seem certain and that is the packages will more than likely change due to the prince increase from BT:mad:
