Epic 1970's pictures, well they're epic!!

Fantastic picture collection!
I use to have loads from the late 60's but lost em all in a dead hd :(

About 70% of the cars pictured had the Ford Cosworth DFV engine, what a engine that was!

This is exactly the sort of thing I've got in a box in the cupboard from my late father.

I really must pull my finger out and get them sorted, there's some stunning shots in a folder he had with some of his best shots.

Majority black and white which imho just look stunning.

The only one I have to show is a crap upload from a dodgy mobile phone pic...

Jacky Ickx, Tim Schenken and Ronnie Peterson.

Also got a pic of Tony Brise having a little mishap with a pigeon. My dad got a classic shot literally just before the pigeon met it's maker :)

Awesome pics, not just becasue of the subject matter but becasue I remember looking through my dads photos when I was a kid and I love that oldschool film camera colour and noise on the photos. I think the atmosphere would be lost if these pictures were taken with a modern camera, but then I've only ever seen this era through a grainy saturated photograph :)

I also wish there was a way to download a whole photostream in one!

Housey top thread mate! Best I've seen in motors in a long time, Even the girl friend is loving some of those pictures :D

Thanking you.

Wish I was around in that era to witness some of it live. Motor spot today seems boring in comparison. Safer by far but just no where near as epic.

Considering the time the pictures are superb, you actually needed to be a master behind the lens to get that kind of sharpness panning a speeding car!

Is it really THAT hard to believe someone hasnt seen a Tyrell P34 before if they dont follow F1 or motorsport?

Even my sister is aware of the existence of a six-wheeled car back in F1 history, and you'd do well to find anyone less interested in F1 or motorsport in general than her....

It's a shame that digital SLRs weren't invented in the '70s :p

It's a damn good job they weren't! Film photography has something about it which I cannot put my finger on. It just looks better hence why I sold all my digital SLR kit for an ancient film SLR!

Housey, a well deserved
