There's some properly stunning photos in this lot - both in terms of subject matter and in terms of the composition and talent of the photographers.

Absolutely amazing in days of cameras that you don't need to think about and DSLRs that make every photo look like a good photo. Considering the technology of the time, I can't get over how brilliant some of these are.

A great photographer has always been a great photographer, problem is now it's a lot easier to get close to greatness, but the greats still stand out.

Oh absolutely, no amount of technology in the world can make you a good photographer but when you take away all the tech we've got these days, it makes it so much more impressive. I remember my grandfather could get a better picture out of a disposable camera than my dad could out of an expensive SLR :)

I love the grain of the film and the quality of the colours from good film photos - looks so much more organic, I really miss having that in day to day pics

Great thread Housey, good find, last year you posted a pic of Senna sat behind his Lotus after it died on him, have you got any links to somewhere I could buy a reasonably sized print of that?

Sorry I can't remember the photo. I tend to look out for quality images on the web and when I find them download them and when I can be bothered upload them to my Photobucket thingy. I am trying to build a drivers wall in my kitchen as I have a big white wall that needs some filling and my wife also likes the old school stuff so we plan to turn it into a bit of image gallery for old school black and white racing images, which is why I have quite a few driver images.
