why would you even risk using something like this albeit what others say, should've stuck to the regular good stuff..like mx-4 :)

not quite the same ring to it though xD i was going to do this today but i'm a little hung over so postponing the butcher till tomorrow i think xD thought like someone else said... my mum thought it was drugs when she saw it on the table xD haha
 
I have used this stuff first hand. Some of you may recall it when i used it on my first rebuild last year or year before (can't remember). I bought it from a local shop and they said the stuff was brilliant so without doing much research i went ahead and used it on a copper heatsink. After a few weeks of use i started to get funny temps so i made a thread on here asking about it.

To my horror i was told the stuff was the devils stuff and was warned to change it straight away. I took apart my heatsink and looked to find that the stuff had started to run down and around my cpu socket!!! The stuff had also stained my cpu and completely ruined the surface of my heatsink.

The stuff is completely **** and i warn anyone who has purchased this or is currently using it to get rid asap! I was lucky to escape with only a stained cpu and ruined heatsink, others have not been so lucky....
 
haha epic thread revival. Stuffs perfectly safe as long as you're not an idiot. Don't use it on anything like Aluminium that will interact chemically and don't pour it on.
 
I have it both under the IHS and then on top. If you have not already bought it I would suggest that you buy Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme TIM instead. Whilst it might not be quite as good as the liquid metal it has far less potential to cause damage.

The liquid metal is excellent but it takes the expression of being careful to a whole new level. If you drip the smallest of drops onto the motherboard or socket it can be horrendous in trying to remove it.

I have got the liquid metal and I have just ordered some Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme from here.
 
You guys are mean. Maybe he just got confused as to the orientation of the CPU and installed it upside down; it happens to the best of us... right? :p

Any chance of selling them? I'd pay a premium for one done by the proffesionals and with its IHS properly glued back (if thats even possible). I dont want to risk my half decent chip by trying it myself :D.

Don't even think about it, it would be too costly for ocuk to sell them with the IHS removed and liquid pro applied. It only takes one **** up to completely render a cpu or board or both useless and ofc ocuk would have to replace the units at their own expense since warranty would be void by removing the IHS in the first place.

First CPU I installed, a cherry picked 1700+ juihb or dl3tc or something I think it was from memory, I installed the heatsink back to front and fried it within seconds.
