Epic TTS

60/40 I think.

New 5th generation haldex can send almost 100% to the rear! but would just be better if it was RWD sending to front like the R8.

Still for all we slam them the TT RS does sound amazing, with a simple remap will beat most cars with ease and they are relatively cheap to run.

New TT RS with new Haldex could be very good, but Audi will still probably have the engine the noise and same old dull driving, plus no more 5 cylinder engine so it won't sound anywhere near as good! :(

TT's yes, not an RS.

I'm utterly unconvinced that a car based on the same platform would be a million miles different.

Looks like autocar agree:

"It feels slightly stolid and less wieldy than it might, like so many performance Audis. The steering, although accurate, has an artificial weighting that leaves the TT RS’s helm distinctly feel-free."

Who are we trying to beat?

Dull Audi with a 5 cylinder in does not equal interesting to drive.

Point is they are quick, a stage 2 car will hit 100mph in 7s so it will beat most things in a straight line. Yet on a track a less powerful Boxster will kick it's backside. :)

It just seems from this thread alone TT RS owners think they have a GTR beater, which they don't, not even remotely close. :)

I'll just leave this here.

Which shows it getting beaten by two GTR's even though one was slow off the line and a 911 Turbo S mullering what is a modified TT RS, so it just showed the Audi getting beat in a straight line, god help it when the corners come up. :D

You've got to remember though, any comparison to a quick TTRS is one that's had £13000+ spent on it, not exactly stock.

We might as well be comparing Andy Forrest's road legal Impreza to anything that comes up in this thread

Why not? At $150k I'd be disappointed if slower than an Audi TT :p

I wouldn't. My GT3 was 60K when I bought it, you could make the TTRS 50% quicker down a runway and make it 30K and I would NEVER feel annoyed, envious, disappointed in my GT3. That is the point people are trying to make I feel, it doesn't matter what it does "on d strip" as it's still a TT with most of the dynamics that come with TT ownership. Fanboys won't see that and as someone who replaced his 911 with an RS Audi I like to think I can speak with a degree of fairness.
