Epic TTS

So I want to move away from focus handling and just move to big power and great noise, if I can get that whilst maintaining handling/feel to some degree then awesome. So you say 911 Turbo? Unfortunately and dare I say this I find the Turbo's actually the opposite to what a 911 should be, they are simply rather dull to drive...

Add the drama back to the 911 fitted with a turbo, and voilà.. GT2.

edit: Just spotted the prices of the GT2 RS..

There was a GT2 RS in my local OPC up at £299K on SOR. It was dropped to £269K as I sat in the showroom (not to entice me...honest) and I am aware a chap I know of was bidding below that by some way and had hoped to buy it for that bid (I didn't check if he did).

Porsches are carrying mad money right now. So glad I sold my GT3 when I did

I checked, it's still there at £279K, so the price must have been too low and misread £269K when it must have been £279K

Its all way too expensive, trust me I have looked at supercharger and turbo kits for my 911, but in reality the kit is 10k installed, then factor in at somepoint the engine will grenade itself, that's another 10k and those figures are at best, in short to push my car to 500-550BHP and be reliable it would be 25-30k.

Then if your gonna do the engine work, might as well update the suspension to some ohlins, 6k and get some Porsche bucket seats about a further 8k.

So in short for me to pile 30k into my car on a car that's only worth 30k is pretty insane, I am better of just giving something else a try, because I could spend all that and in the end buying an R8 V10 or R35 GTR would still get me a faster car and for less money and better reliability.

Yeah man, your an idiot just like me for selling my CSL when I did.

Last year a trade in value on my 911 C2S when I nearly part exchanged it for a GTR was like 22k after pushing. Enquired how much a company would buy my car outright, Porsche specialist and they offered 25k straight away and said if its as nice as it looks upon inspection they could stretch that to 26k and would retail it at £35,950 and expect to get around 34k based on sales in past 2-3 months.

So car values in general are increasing, I am half tempted to advertise mine in the Summer for around 32-36k or wherever the market sits and if I get north of 30k I'd be over the moon considering 4 years ago I paid 38k.

GT3's are out of most people reach now, all 60k+, even 996 versions are fetching silly money, so the rare market that is the C2S with aero kit and the faster bolt-on bits has demand improving and as such its helped with values on the glorified C2S's with right spec. If you've got tiptronic, no PSE and no chrono your still fubared though. :D

he would get a convertible.

which would not offer the fantastic chassis response and not be the full fat 911 experience.

I won't be changing this car for the foreseeable future so that's unlikely :p And anyway, the best way to enjoy those exhaustses and engineses is via roof down antics :D

To be honest a 911 coupe sounds nicer insider than a convertible.

As you hear the engines heart, convertible you just hear exhaust note and trust me 911's make a stunning noise over 6000rpm, they really do and its only a noise you hear inside the cabin. :)
