Slot wouldn't make any difference at Man United at all really. That is the point I was making rather than what ETH is capable of. This club is poison to whoever comes in.
I'd argue that any manager having been at a club in to his 3rd season and having spent well over 600 million would have better results.

Oh and Slot definitely wouldn't have you languishing in the bottom half of the premier league :p

To which you can say he's had 2 years of buying players worth about 600 million and could you genuinely say one of them has made United better?

If you went round and asked 100 people who Uniteds best players are Fernandes and Mainoo would probably come out on top (with maybe Rashford on the 5 games a year he bothers), Ten Hag didn't buy any of those. Now either all those players he has bought are crap or he can't get a tune out of them, either way it's not a great look for him!

Still think the Glazers have played a blinder at United, flogged a tiny bit of the club for a Kings Ransom to INEOS and basically took all the heat off themselves owning the club to let them be the fall guys! If the clubs a success more $$$ for them, if the club fails the fans are gonna give it to INEOS now so they don't really lose either way.

I agree with everything you've said, players, manager, owners. All to blame.

There's no quick fix here.

You sack ETH and get a new manager you might have a bit of a bounce but you will still have those bad eggs around the club like Rashford, Sancho etc. Until those are moved on then nothing will change.

Sancho plays for Chelsea on loan at the moment. He was on loan at Dortmund previously. I'm not sure how much influence he has on Man Utd results.

That team vs Spurs (and in most games this season) was mainly players ETH wanted and knows. It wasn’t just Rashford and the usual suspects. None of them have a clue what to do as he can’t coach properly. People keep referencing his Ajax team from many years ago, like it’s some kind of revelation, probably based on some YouTube highlights. It’s not relevant now.

It’s like some people support Ten Hag and not the club. Why? Whats he done to earn any sort of loyalty? Delivered two second rate trophies. I agree there are many other issues and uncertainties, but having a hopeless manager isn’t going to make things any easier.

P.S. Sancho is at Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy - he’s not coming back.

I'm not sure what the club owners/management have done in recent times to earn any support/loyalty either. Nor the players, it seems like most of them can't be arsed.

And who is happy with them? Pretty much nobody. All you can say in fairness is that INEOS have only been here a few months and that isn’t long. They absolutely made a mess of the ETH situation at the end of the season but hopefully that isn’t a sign of things to come.

Still think that’s a case of them being in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. Unfortunately they went with the wrong choice. I just hope their next managerial decision is a good, non-knee jerk, one.

Ahh yes but in hindsight we should have sacked him and also hired a manager that would, with foresight have been a wild success for this season. Its all very simple really. We obviously should have sacked him and we obviously should have hired *insert manager*.

Other than for a pay cheque I'm not sure why someone would want to manage the club

Same reason anyone wants to go to any highly paid mess. They have egos and want the money. If you are the one who changes United then you will go down in history. Every top manager has to have that belief in themselves as well.

Exactly, same reason people went to Liverpool for about 25 years. Everyone thinks they can be the one to bring the glory back.

Eventually United will find their Klopp in the same way Liverpool did, they're too big and got too many resources to be in the relative doldrums forever. Though it took them about 25 years after Matt Busby and they're not halfway to that yet post Fergie so it might not be imminent :p

:D

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag on his future:

"I don't judge us in this moment.

" I judge us at the end of the season.

"We are in the process. Just wait. We have to develop this team.

"We will work and continue. We will fight."
