ES has more features and is generally much easier to use and easier on the eyes but mine is a little laggy when scrolling.
Astro is really smooth scrolling and has the little scrollbar that pops out.
I've just been playing with it now and the scrolling seems a lot better for some reason, you can enable that scroll thing in the options BTW.

Edit: I think they just updated it actually, hence the scroll improvement.

+1 for ES :) and it DOES show root on CM

Love the GUI too, makes looking for specific file types in the root of my SD card much easier - different icons for zip files or apk files - great stuff!

The ES task manager on the other hand lacks features and is a little bit pants

for task management I use System Task Zone

Lets you ignore programs when hitting 'kill all' and lets you kill background processes too

(should you want one that is lol - haven't been using it much lately as the phone has been pretty smooth :))

FINALLY!

Now to find all the damn golden eggs.

Have no fear, XDA will see to that surely :)

Can't be the GPU as Brut mod for Maps on Desire has had vector rendering test mode built in for a while and that was very smooth.

I think it will be fine, just that initial rollout is for certain phones. Desire can vector render maps no problem as per above comment on brut mod.

NEw related button in market. When did that happen? Pretty nifty
First showed up a few days ago.

Not sure the the compatibility list for maps is purely performance based, DHD is more powerful than the Droid, maybe it's something to do with the multitouch?

Also just been playing Gravity Lander, really simple and fun game... I know it's been around for a while.
