Essential Android Apps

You don't need to do that :p

Just install titanium backup and you can uninstall any system app :)

But where's the sense installing more apps to remove others? (I already had term as part of the rom).

Titanium isn't just to remove apps though, it's /the best/ at backing up and restoring settings/apps and the related app data and restoring back to the exact location it was backed up from be it EXT/internal or AndroidSD.

Very impressed with Android so far (day one).

Any suggestions for:
Media Player
Running GPS Tracker
Twitter
Bandwidth Monitor
GPS/Satnav

Games:
I have Pinball Deluxe and Wordfeud.
Planning on downloading Angry Birds...
Anything else?

Are there any other Suggested Apps I might like?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Media player - Rockplayer for video's, powerAMP for music
Twitter - Touiter or the proper twitter client
GPS - Sygic Aura, Co-pilot or Google nav. Sygic is by far the best though.

Running GPS Tracker - Endomondo or Mytracks

I'm using both at the moment as I can't decide which one I like more

For games check out Rocket Bunnies and Gun Bros

For 92p I'm gonna spoil myself :) GoTo Lockscreen looks pretty good :)

As for the dialer, I've been using TouchPad, but the chinese text has been doing my head in a bit lately lol, used to use Dialer One, but will give Dialer2 a go :)

GoTo Lockscreen is great! Only thing that's bugging me is that when I unlock the phone, it reloads my homepage taking a good 15/20 seconds before I can do anything with it after unlocking it... Is this a known bug with GoTo? or is my phone being a tool? lol

>edit 2<
Dialer2 is awesome - it's so smooth and responsive :) this wins in my book (or in my phone...)

Fixed the annoyance with GoTo Lockscreen... In ADW settings, I set it to "system persistant" or basically 'keep in memory'
(it has to be an option in your launcher settings, as using the 'lock home in memory' option in CM settings for me didn't change anything - because you set GoTo as your default launcher, it only keeps THAT in memory... consequently it still has to reload ADW every time I wanted to go 'home' - gay, but fixed :))
I know there's an option for this in LauncherPro settings too, can't comment on others though, even though I've used OpenHome, aHome, Zeam and Go Launcher, I didn't use them for long enough to know the settings - can't imagine them not having that option though :)

Dolphin Mini 2.0 now out.

Changes I've noticed:

- Faster page rendering.
- Bookmarks now smaller and show title only, rather than URL.
- Gestures start with a dot!

I really am enjoying this browser now. Just wish there was an option to show flash straight away by default.

Hey, does anyone know of an alternative to Switchpro widget? I've updated to 2.3.3 on my N1 and some parts of Switchpro no longer work (3G toggle, Wifi toggle, GPS and flashlight).

I don't know how my phone was set up before but I think it was only connecting via 3G intermittently while the phone was idle (screen locked) to sync emails. Now though I think it's staying connected all the time and it's killing my battery!

Any ideas/workarounds? Thanks :)
