AdFree Android
Adfree android.... Maybe I should root my phone...

App ads are so annoying, it's not like I'm ever likely to click any of them, plus more and more apps are adding them in more annoying places. Should be able to opt out.

Anyone actually have any info on how much developers actually make on these ads? I have a feeling it's pittance, would rather have the choice to pay a small amount for an app 25p or so instead of getting apps all over my face that will earn the dev nothing from me because I never click the things.

That video has made me want the N1 over the Desire, I really don't like the blackness of the HTC customizations.

The black background with white writing is one of the reasons I chose the htc phone.. Have my firefox and media player like it to

Any actually decent wireless sync apps? I Think one was mentioned before?

Edt.. Didnt see es was wireless

Im also thinking of ditching swype, gonna have to do a typing test.
Is there an index of keyboard for install to try?

skyfall, if theres anything you wanna know about the n1 i could help when mine arrives :) (offering a "new" user experience with both the n1 and android)

I decided to go for the n1 over the desire too, just for a few little niggly things, but the track ball got me <3

I use smart keyboard pro but I don't think there's a free version of it, it's much like the stock app performance wise but there are a few skins and my favorite feature is that you can long press keys to type symbols instead of having to toggle the symbol keyboard.

Swype is a nice concept but its buggy and with the prediction of the HTC keyboard it a lot faster to type than swype.

Cant get used to that swype thing and don't see the point... But I guess it's personal choice.

I'm torn between the HTC IME keyboard and smart keyboard pro, having those symbols on long press is extremely convenient, the big reason I'm not using the IME keyboard atm is that it keeps force closing, will see if i can try another version.

OK so I've not been using this mod version of the IME keyboard... It is awesome, it does tat long press to symbol thing too... Excellent, love it, hasn't force closed yet either.

Eh? you can long press for symbols on the stock keyboard?

Not on mine.

You mean you can't long press the buttons shown below to get the alt symbols or press the 12# button to get more symbols?

I've also found a nice calendar widget (Smooth Calendar) as I don't like the huge HTC one and the stock Android one (bottom) is too boring. This is nice and minimal.

No no no, I have a Samsung Galaxy Portal ;)

Desire/N1 sometime near the end of the year :p

Also check out the funky Samsung KB:

I've used the stock android keyboard, the htc mod one and swype.

I've found the htc to be noticeably better than stock android, keys feel larger and I seem to be typing faster.

Got the swype beta apk this morning and already loving it. I'm getting up to speed pretty well with it, possibly faster than the htc keyboard too.

Only bad thing is the error message that pops up when you put it in landscape, but hey, it's a beta!
Can't wait for the full release.
