Guys whats the best backup app for a none rooted phone?

Might have to return my HTC One and don't want the hassle of setting it up from scratch again :(

Thanks

Have you got any particular settings that you have had to change for 720/1080P MKV playback?

Slightly stuttering on my one S :(

If you're getting stuttering then it's likely your WiFi or router settings for media streaming.

You can make a file by file copy of the SD (be it internal, external etc.).

You can save a list of your apps using Sharemyapps. Then it's just links to the market to reinstall.

Custom launchers often have a backup feature.

SMS Backup and Restore can backup your SMS.

Anything else you need backing up?

For apps I think you'll have to use my suggestion above to re-download or you'll need root for Titanium Backup or similar. I don't think there's another way but I've never really investigated.

Dropbox can just be signed in again, and you can restore the files by copy/paste.

No idea about itunes. I would guess copy/paste job...

EDIT: Gmail contacts is the best way for them as above!

SMS perhaps.

Contacts should be synced with Gmail, if not why not...!

Oops yes your correct they are

OK thanks ;)

What sort of settings should I be looking at?

I am on virgin 60MB (only getting 30MB now though, but that should be more than enough....) and I have a good ping along with a good wireless adapter.

Smaller things like 700MB AVIs work fine.

EDIT:

And emit plays 1080 MKV's perfectly fine but not as good quality as BS player :(

No settings in app changed on mine, I have a Netgear WNDR3700 and enabled WiFi Multimedia (not sure if that helps).

Flawless network playback on mine too (Netgear CG3101D) and I haven't changed a thing apart from the obvious.

Maybe you've downloaded some dodgy stuff! :)

You can download an app called appsaver - that'll save the apk for all your apps to your SD card - you won't be able to save the apps data but it'll save having to redownload them all :)

Tried chrome and boat browser out, wasn't keen on chrome too much, as the rendering for some pages looked kind of weird and then the text was gigantic even when not zoomed in.............(and yes I changed the setting for that :p), IMO the sense browser is the best for features, overall UI.

Regarding speed and smoothness all 3 were pretty much the same, couldn't notice any difference. I do quite like boat browser but the UI isn't as polished as sense IMO :(

BTW what power widget does everyone use, is switch pro still the best or GO switch widget? I much prefer them to be in the notification area but I haven't rooted and got a custom ROM on and I don't intend on doing so for quite a long time :p

Also mrk, could you upload your minimalistic text config files please ¬_¬

:p

Have you tried Apex Launcher Pro?

I love having 3 different tabs in my application drawer, currently have general, games and utilities. There's no need to install a different app for dock notifications either.

Apex launcher Pro???? I can't see any pro version on the market or appbrain.......

Didn't realise you could have the tabs to what you like... is that part of the pro version?

I don't use dock notifications as that is what the notification bar/tray is for :p :D The one thing that is ******* me off with go though, is the 3 dots (menu) on the bottom of the screen :(, hopefully there will be an update soon to place it somewhere else in the app drawer like apex.

I will give apex another try for a bit longer but I can't see myself moving from go for good as the widgets and app drawer folders is a big plus for me.
