What the best android app for GPS, sister uses Google maps on her Galaxy mini.
Any better mapping than Google maps available, & finally a good camera app is also needed.

Tried searching this forum, as I'm sure it was posted about these apps, but I failed miserably.:o

To be clear, you want to know if there is a better map than Google Maps? I would say no. What is Google maps lacking?

In my opinion nothing, I think Google maps is superb, just sister asking me if there is anything better than Google maps.

Prehaps with a better GPS she will see sense.:(

Google Maps Navigation is super, what does she want that's "better"? Bung on IVONA TTS and it will be like as if there's a real person talking inside the phone.

Thank MRK: We will try this & see if it satisfies her needs .:)

Just need now to find a good camera app.

Calendar is cool.

Message app is soo basic - Spoilt by the choices in GoSMS.

Yeah, tough choice for me as the stock sense calendar is superb, but I love the simplicity of ICS calendar and theme.

I like the SMS app, but............it doesn't have a black theme!!!!!!!! :p

Prefer stock sense SMS over it I think anyway.

I don't think any file manager can pull me away from ES File Explorer!

same!

I just tried that new one out anyway, the UI is very nice and it has a dark theme too but a glaring issue resides with SMB shares that are stored with the master password. If you master password contains a period then the keyboard used may input the period and then an auto space after it whereas in a normal password field any auto correction or punctuation should be auto disabled.

It's like the app isn't telling Android that this is a password field, ignore all auto corrections.

Means I can't access my network shares thereafter once applying the global password!

I also find ES quicker to switch between sources at present but will check Solid another time once it's out of beta I guess.

Sticking with the HTC calendar and messaging app......

The stock ICS apps aren't as nice for the UI especially the SMS app and have hardly any features compared to sense variants.
