Unfortunately you can't have both that's why I uninstalled launcher pro.. you have to decide between the 2 :/

or download other widgets that look almost identical and have the best of both.

Good alternatives are 'Fancy Widget' and 'Weather Widgets'.

ok, i can't believe i've had this since fri and only just noticed the power control widget. i downloaded seperate apps for turning wifi and bluetooth on and off quickly and there was a little dock to do it all for me

nuts.

posting just in case there was another muppett who doesn't look

Now that I've rooted, are there any apps for the Desire to alter the colour of the notification led lights?

and any other cool apps for root? Got SetCPU, ShootMe and Titanium Backup atm.

Root wise Clear cache and Cache mover are pretty good if you're looking to clear some space, not so important on the desire but having only flashed 2.1 a few days ago there was 15mb of cache to clear, moved some caches to the SD card now so I don't have to worry about it.

Sorry it was the first file upload site I came across. Click the bit where it says "Save file to your PC: click here" near the bottom, it's quite small.

Right, AppBrain. Surely its possible, if I hard reset my phone, to just log on to AppBrain at a PC and tell it to reinstall the apps I used to have?

Appbrain syncs your phone with your installed apps, if you wipe then resync after rebooting it will sync no apps and lose the current applist which is why you need to select all apps in the appbrain website once synced then create a new list from the active list and call it "backup_DATE" so then you can go to that new list once synced on your phone and hit the select all > install buttons in the website and then sync on the phone again so pull the new installs down.

A better option is that once rooted you can use mybackup pro to "restore your apps and their settings in a few clicks and no need to go through individual install screens.

Appbrain is more of a app sharing system instead of a backup restore system even though it can be used for that too.
