Any good Facebook apps? This is a major lacking feature on the Android system. Blackberry and iPhone have it sorted.

Bloo. The 1.5beta is available on a mediafire link in the comments of the authors homepage. It has chat and supports proper notifications for everything rather than the official one's shoddy immitation.

It does not however yet support the "liking" of individual comments, if that's a major issue for you!

More people need to start using it or the dev is considering stopping development when it is lightyears ahead of the official app

If you use AppBrain, sync your phone and when it shows any updates, delete the update link and it asks if you want to skip this update/never update this app.

You can hide it with launcherpro but, this means I can't see message notifications (I don't use a widget) I have suggested to the author to make the notification bar show when you have messages or email.

As it stands I hate the look of it it and wondered if it can be changed.

Mine is a little, but that's the screen's fault really.

Changing the colour to a dull grey works really well

You need to uninstall any version of Bloo you have to make it work. Ace app.

I also hate the default Android status bar and icons so I've been running a variety of ROMs with black, grey and other design status bars. There are loads available for the nexus one and desire.
