not exactly an app but i need a world cup google calendar. the one i have keeps refusing to load so it dissapears from my calendar on the homescreen all the time. any available?

Who said it downloads maps on the go?

It precaches the navigation route when you punch it in, as long as you stay on course and don't make a wrong turn there's no need for it to download anything extra other than traffic infos of streetview should you enable those features.

I've used all the Android navigation solutions out now and much prefer the accuracy of Google Navigation.

Second best was Sygic Mobile Maps 10 (or 9) but the Sygic keyboard is rubbish.

CoPilot is fine but it doesn't speak junction numbers or road names so you need to check your junction numbers and finer details onscreen which isn't always possible while driving on busy sections of road.

Navigon has a nicer map view and is real time smooth but it lacks any additional features although is very good and accurate. It is more expensive though...

I actually preferred iGo 8 on the old Android phone but they haven't released the higher res screen supported version yet.

Cheers Khaan - I thought that it downloads the Map on the go.
And yes, going off course is in fact a "problem", so would prefer "the entire map" to be stored on my memory card.

So what launcher are you guys using?

I've been using Launcher Pro since it came out, but it seems almost every ROM worth looking at is bundling ADW, So i figured i'd take a look and try it.

I'm not sure i see what all the fuss is about. Pro is noticeably smoother IMO.

The only good thing i can see with ADW is that it can backup your config settings and layout.

Both are good, but i think i'm sticking with Pro, Still testing ADW though but can see me moving back soon.

And you?

I keep meaning to give ADW a try, it seems to have a few different features but still using launcher pro as it does everything i need really and is smooth and flashy, I used to use dxtop for a long time as it has a buttload of built in features but it's looking a bit dated now in 2.1 and not particularly smooth or consistent.

Gotta say the dolphin hd v2 is pretty impressive.. kinda reminds me of a slim FireFox :O

Failed to get sywpe working this time

Waiting for a screen shot app without root :)

ADW doesn't lose all of your drawer apps, once LP is updated to be as stable I'll switch back to it, for now ADW > *
